Blimey you've hit a nerve or two here - my rage starts with drivers who...... - don't use their indicators at junctions or roundabouts - still use mobiles at 70mph whilst overtaking me, in the fog - tailgate at high speed and don't overtake when they can My most scary moment recently happened on the M1 - I was just driving through a stretch where the speed limit had been dropped to 40mph because of congestion and then got to the electronic sign that showed 60mph - my old car obviously took a nanosecond too long to get up to speed (we were going up hill too) for the lorry behind me, so he started flashing and driving closer towards me (b***** maniac.) I couldn't change lanes because it was busy so he forced me onto the hard shoulder and I have no idea why! I was just so glad I was in the inside lane. I tend to stay there now as this has made me very nervous. Saz

Winter Drawers Ever Near

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 24 Nov 2004 18:43

The most disgusting and revolting thing has happened to me this afternoon. Because I gave way to on coming traffic in a narrow street, the yob in the silver car behind me drew along side when they had passed and the language was disgusting. What really incensed me was not content with speaking to a woman like that, he turned down the electric window on the passenger door of his car and SPAT, yes SPAT all over my window. There was absolutely no reason for him to do that. I hadn't done anything wrong, I was just being courteous and sensible to other road users. Well I've got his registration number and make of car, and his photo on my mobile. If he lives in the area, he'd better move house. This pond life's card is marked.

Hi All and particularly Bob! Well what can I say? A whole day of incident free driving :O Do you think perhaps they're all keeping their distance from me now LOL..... The ones that really annoy are the ones I meet coming out of work - I have to drive up a very steep hill which has a junction at the top controlled by traffic lights - it's 3rd gear only jobbie for my little 1200cc engine. Now I always thought that traffic coming UP HILL has priority, especially on a steep beast like this one with parked cars on either side - but will they give way? NO!! They insist on trying to push their way down, forcing you over so you lose any momentum you had. So, I just stick my headlights on and drive right up the middle :P Can't wait for tomorrows journeys LOL ;P

I think that me and my car become invisible as soon as I get in it. Twice this morning I had to hit the breaks because some idiot just pulled out right in front of me. I know my car is green with lots of mud brown areas but didn't think it was that well camouflaged - thought the lights may have given them a little clue! Oh well, Kxx

To all of you I can relate to what you have had to put up with, one day I was driving down the road bt me and a cop car came up behind me so I did the right thing and kept to the speed limit, the coppers wern't happy the driver started flashing me to speed up, wel his blues and two's wern't going so no way was I gonna risk getting done for speeding they had to sit behind me for about 1/4 mile before they could safly over take....how about that for trying to pull rank. :) Bev

After reading this thread and what you all say,I think its best to keep you cool, after all, if they want to spend time in "Intensive Care" let them, I just sit back and laugh at them, nine times out of ten they only get a few yards in front then the traffic lights change and they have to stop.I content myself with Knowing that if push comes to shove, theres not much on the road that can go faster than me, I occasionly have a "Red Mist" moment and leave them in the distance. Happy Driving everybody, Hal.

On another occasion, my daughter had an altercation with some man for a parking spot. He started shouting and gesticulating and making very rude comments about women drivers through his open window. She gets out of the car, all 5'4" of her. He gets out, burly and agressive, to sort this 'girly' once and for all but before he can say a word she strides over and screams at him : 'WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM ? I'VE HAD A LONG AND ******* AWFUL DAY, I'M TIRED AND I'M RATTY AND YOU ARE GETTING RIGHT UP MY ******** NOSE!' He moved. Magsx

Now the ones that really annoy me are motorbikes who queue jump, and half the time you don't see them. Waiting at some traffic lights to turn right a motorbike came down on the outside of me so as to get in front of the queue and as he tries to turn back in he catches the kerb on the bit that the traffic light is sitting on, next thing he is on the floor. Hardly surprising that no one gets out to help him up. Sometimes there is a god.

I HAVE DRIVEN FOR 43 YEARS - had one accident when van in front was going through lights on amber and changed his mind. I made a right mess of the car, in which my hubbie was taking his driving test the next day! Needless to say, I was in the wrong as too close to van in front and too inexperienced to know that if the brakes don't work first time, you should 'pump' them..........the roads were wet/slippy. I have now learnt to treat everyone as idiots on the road (inc pedestrians) and give way to any nut as it is just not worth the hassle, but YES I do boggle at what other drivers do - selfish s..s, the lot of them. Especially (four-wheel) drivers, who seem to think they own the road! Good job I haven't got white hair or I would have a contest on my hands!! It's all good fun, LIFE!

A while ago - but still makes me smile.... We could hear a terrible commotion outside the office window so we all looked out to see what was going on. Down in the street there was a large Chevvy type car and a small pick up truck facing each other bumper to bumper. The bloke in the car was leaning on the horn and 'F'ing and blinding at the bloke in the truck to get out of the way and let him pass. The bloke in the truck was keeping his cool and just indicated with his hand that it wasn't up to him to back up. That made the first man even more irate, he was shouting threats and all sorts. Finally he gets out of the car, bangs on the truck with his fist and starts to get really violent. The bloke in the truck smiles, opens the door and climbs out - ALL 7'0" OF HIM !!! (well he looked that big - a good head and shoulders above the other bloke and he weren't small!) He didn't say a word, just stood there with his arms folded, legs apart and smiling. I have never seen anyone back down so quickly in my life! Without another word, he skedaddled back to his car and reversed. The truck driver sailed past with a wave and a toot and we all cheered! Years ago I had a Mini, that was quite old anyway! and you could take the ignition key out and the engine would still run! One day a guy sat on my bumper for miles, really annoyed me, so when we got to some red lights I took the key out, got out of the car and opened the boot and asked the guy, in a very posh voice, "Would you like to F******g get in now?" He just threw his hands up, was very red faced and I got back in the car and drove off! But were my legs shaking or what!! lol Kim

Actually thinking about it - that WAS my third incident in 7 days!! :O Bringing my dad back from hospital the other lunch time a young bimbo in a Jag cut me up to come off the motorway at the same junction - completely compromised me when there was half a mile of empty carriageway behind me. But then you cant expect a Jag to sit behind a Corsa huh? lol Drew up alongside her at the lights, where she was taking great interest in the motorway traffic to the other side of her. When the lights changed she HAD to make eye contact - so I told her she was a stupid t*rt - must have frightened the pants off her cos she took off - cut in front of me - undertook the 2 cars that were infront her - cut them up again to get back in the right lane before disappearing off at the next roundabout............. Ggrrrr - these people know damn well they have done the wrong thing and then they dont like it when other drivers get upset with them - what's the point? You'll get there when you there!! Sorry - but I just cant abide people who do stupid and pointless things on the road - fume!!

nice one andy and anne im like something possesed in the car when a guy gets up my back end and you can then see him mouthing obscenities through your mirror, i love to give a friendly wave and smile at them, i have been known to get out of the car and walk round to driver of white van where i used to live , he never missed a day when he wouldnt try to intimidate me,one morning i had to reverse slowly out of our street as you couldnt turn, his bumper was facing my bumper and he was pushing me almost, up the street, i was close to hiting a car parked on left side . i yanked handbrake on told kids to stay in car, and went to the white van mans window, when i demanded he get out of his van he just sat there looking like ( shit shes lost it, big time). hubby works nights and daughter went in house and woke him up, of course i went nuts with him then for acting like little women couldnt deal with it. white van man reversed and gave me space to pull forward and out a bit. i still want to swipe him every time i see him, last i heard hes taxi driver.
