It seems that many people on this site believe in astrology. Is there anyone else, like me, who thinks the whole thing is a load of tosh? Would anyone like to put the opposing case?

You would say that because you were obviously all born when the Moon was in line with Mars and Venus was 60 metres to the left of Saturn. Typical lot you are. :-)

Bob

Bob Report 28 Nov 2004 13:03

Isn't anyone going to argue the case for?

I had a report done, years ago now and they came up with something that was true and very unusual and my exact age of when it happened. How did they know then? I did'nt meet anybody it was all done by post, all I put in was date and time of birth. Jo.

i dont think its so black and white, theres a grey area,to the subject...the four seasons can alter chemicals in the brain...leading to Seasonal A ffective Dissorder,a nasty type of depression.......so,in that case, why cant the time that we were born, the place we were born, and the date, affect our emmotions, and possible traits,on a monthly cycle. astrology,is thousands of years old, surely if it was so inaccurate,it would not still be around! what you see in the daily press,is not real astrology, its mearly a bit of fun...i remain open-minded on the subject. bryan.

So I am not really mental it is the four seasons. Debs.

yes debs lol, its been proven by years of medical research. bryan.

Bryan It is indisputable that we are affected by the seasons - in particular by the amount of daylight. This has nothing to do with astrology and everything to do with human (and animal) physiology.

thats not really the point i was trying to get over bob. if the seasons, can affect our emotional stability, why is it not possible for the moon to affect us as well? the point is,the moon does affect us!! therefor surely, the position of the moon,at the time of birth, may well also affect us during the moons cycle. bryan.

Bob

Yes the moon affects us. After all it is a damn great rock and (in astronomical terms) not very far away. Its gravity gives us the tides and much more besides. What I can't accept is that its position in the sky in relation to some unimaginably distant stars can have any effect on our character.

as you know, ime open minded about this subject, but if you have a chance to read...linda goodmans ...sun signs, she is amazingly accurate on the personality traits, providing you have details of date of birth, time, and place. its really a subject, that i spend very little time on,but ime sure theres millions of converts, throughout the world. bryan.

The only way a lump of rock in space is going to affect my life is if it hits me on the head

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Nov 2004 21:34

I am open minded about it but i think those who believe in astrology would say that the 'star signs' in the media are for fun and nothing to do with the real science of astrology which is a lot more complicated. I have a friend who studies it but I really know nothing more than that. Ann Glos

Len of the Chilterns Report 28 Nov 2004 22:51

When so called astrologers read the stars, why do they only consider the movement of the planets? The sun is the only star in our solar system. It is not logical that only the planets should influence life on earth - which is not saying that they do. Surely the sun should have massively more influence than pluto or venus or all the others put together and, if it did so, what about all those other heavenly bodies (not you, Bendy) of a similar nature to the sun ? Maybe that would be stretching the astrological intellect a star too far? Len

Bob

Bob Report 28 Nov 2004 22:56

Bob

Bob Report 28 Nov 2004 23:03

Bendy must have been born under a very articulate star
