I always have to get one each for the kids, and one for hubby, then one for myself so I don't get left out. Gets a bit expensive. But this year my sister bought me one of those wooden advent calendars from costco - a Christmas tree with little drawers underneath, each holding an ornament to put on the tree between 1 and 24 Dec. The drawers have enough space in to fit a couple of chocs as well as the ornament so I bought some chocolate money, chocolate santas, and a box of wrapped sweets and put 2 identical sweets in each drawer so both kids get one each day no matter whose turn it is to open it up. I am hoping that this advent calendar will become a family tradition and that I can pass it on to one of my kids when they have children of their own. Angela

I never used to like the chocolate inside advent calendars, was never that nice tasting. I used to prefer opening the door and wondering what pic was behind the door...little things please little minds etc lol
