Oh you sussed me there Queeny. Bit of a nosy parker at times. Well another 10 mins and bed for me. Five hours sleep should be enough. Energy tabs and the herbal tea and I'll be up and at them. I hope! |

Its dead confusing...my mums real mum died at 27. My grandad got remarried! My dad left the family home about 19yrs ago and we never heard from him again! He died in 1995 but we never really knew his family! In fact when I asked my mum what my grandmothers name from my dads side was all she could tell me was Mrs. Great help eh. Anyway I will get there slowly but surely! Ive already found out that my gran wasnt really called Mrs. She was actually called Margaret..Good eh! |

I'm having more trouble getting info out of the living. Problem is I'm in England and they are up in Scotland. Will no doubt have to wait until I go up there next year and raid the attic. I have all these names and no damn dates of birth etc. |

Can you believe I managed to find our family bible! I traced it to one of my Uncles who very kindly said I could have it. Imagine the excitement..the thought of all those names listed in there! Yeah right..... I picked up the bible, which I might add, Is a huge bible, and I mean big!! Not a single name listed...not one!!! There is a date written in which goes back over 200yrs but not one single solitary name! I could have cried... |

Scream...thats an understatment. I really thought that all I would have had to do was open the bible and all these names and dates would have jumped out at me!!! The good side of it all is that with having to research it all now not only have I met loads of really lovely people on here but I am actually enjoying the challenge!! Would have been nice to get a head start though |

Hi SweetPea. With Xmas upon us etc thought I'd just wait and get as much info when I see my immediate family and relatives. Got back to about the early 1800's with my husband's side. Can't put a lot of time into it unfortunately at the moment. Not reached retirement age when I can please myself. Too many other things on the go with work etc. |
