roast potatoes, roast turkey, roast parsnips & red onion, carrots boiled then mashed, brussels sprouts, bacon rolls, chipolatas, gravy and bread sauce.

'Fraid I can easily live without turkey for Crimbo. Roast Beef, Stuffing, Chestnut Stuffing, Roast Potatoes (cooked around the meat), Sprouts (yes, sprouts), Yorkshire pudding, assortment of other veg (not bothered which), Horseradish sauce, plus also those chipolata sausages with the bacon wrapped round them. Yum!

And also worth looking forward to - Boxing day my husband and I love bubble & squeak-type fryup with leftover (!) spuds and sprouts and a bit of bacon. MMMMmmmmmm. I am very hungry now but can't eat until husband gets in with the shopping! nell

One Xmas my in-laws made such a huge dinner that we needed 2 plates!!!! One was meat, stuffing and spuds, the other veg and more spuds!!! I'm cooking this year and it will be .. turkey, sausagemeat sage and onion stuffing, saus/bacon rolls, roasties, parsnips, sprouts (yuk!), carrots, broccoli, cauli, gravy. mmmmmmmmmm Boxing day for my hubby's family is always mushroom soup followed by ham, egg n chips, then a 2nd Xmas pud! Maz. XX

Shame on you Christine ,roast parsnips and hot horseradish sauce are a part of a roast beef dinner .Parboil them and add to the roast potatoes 45 minutes from the finishing time ,done in the beef juices along with the tatties they make the meal,and don't forget the kilties too, they go with beef ,or pork really well.iv'e even had them with Grants haggis ,neeps and tatties ,[not bad at all,mashed in with the tatties]Fred.ptfg.

I do all the usual - turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, sprouts, whole baby carrots lightly boiled and peas for the kids plus loads of bread sauce and gravy plus cranberry sauce for those who want it. But our family has always dished up sliced boiled or roast gammon with the turkey - I like smoked though my mother used unsmoked. It complements the turkey nicely and caters for those not so keen on turkey meat. Angela

Roast Beef with potatoes and onions (onions to make a gravy) Rice, green beans with bacon, sweet carrots, cauliflour au gratin, Stuffed Roast Duck with mushrooms and giblets (nobody likes turkey) No "Yuuky" sprouts. Roast "piglet" (In marinade for two days) with the crackling made just golden brown. Old fashioned bread pudding made with old bread, apricot jam and egg whites. Homemade "crepe suzette's" with fresh orange juice and quantro liquer sauce. Bought "King Cake" with glazed fruit on top. Served with Port Wine. Leftovers for the next week;-)))
