I just plait the hairs on my legs in the winter - saves a fortune in tights!

Generally a matter of personal taste. Personally I think hairy armpits and legs look horrible on a woman - especially mine. Though men do also go for removing body hair. The program I saw about men being waxed was about a method called (and i'm sorry if this offends but these are the words used by the people) back, crack and sac - made me cringe and i'm not a bloke. Kxx

I think that it boils down to culture. In some cultures hairy is beautiful. In the many parts of the world bare has the same effect. There's nothing, in my opinion, nastier than a woman with pit hair and hairy legs. Deb -

I saw a documentary recently on depilation and the reasons why. It was mostly filmed in the US, where some women also had their bikini line waxed. They were wearing thongs, so also had between the cheeks done as well. Ouch, made my eyes water just thinking about it. BTW my wife is German and she shaves under her arms - just to dispel that English myth.

Andy, If you see me scratching under my armpits like a monkey, its because I haven't removed the hair, lol June

I'm suddenly drawn to a quote from the Bond film, "You Only Live Twice" when one of the Japanese guys says that "all Japanese men have beautiful bare skin". To which Bond replies in response to why he's hairy, "Ancient Japanese proverb - Bird never make nest in bare tree".

We don't do it for men, we do it for ourselves, makes us feel cleaner I expect. By the way I know men who diplicate their arms and chests. It's become quite fashionable. Luv from the hairy fairy.

I shaved my armpits once years ago, to see what it felt like! It hurt for days after. It felt really odd. Ha, ha, ha!

John, My hubby trims his armpit air, as it is easier to wash and be clean, BO tends to stay on the hair no matter how well you wash. Helen xx

Should men shave their armpits too then?

Christine

Christine Report 8 Dec 2004 21:40

shaving less painless - waxing lasts longer but can bring tears to the eyes...depends on who and where...if you know what I mean.....

John

John Report 8 Dec 2004 21:37

What's your preferred method? Is it painless? (My wife shaves!)
