Scrambled egg sandwiches. Traditionally in greaseproof paper, which gets very soggy! Cottage cheese, grated carrot, alfalfa and walnuts with really good bread Cold roast pork with apple sauce, stuffing, mustard and redcurrant jelly Tuna with red peppers, spinach and dill Oh, and fresh, crusty white bread, butter, decent ham and freshly made English mustard. From my childhood: My mum's egg sandwiches - not sliced egg, but cut up with a bit of butter to help spread From my London workdays: either M&S egg & bacon in malted bread OR prawn & egg roll OR from sandwich bar in Gt Portland St tube station - if a winter day - toasted corned beef & tomato - if a summer day, to take to Regents Park to eat, their own tuna mayo mix with peppers and cold potato. Now salmon & cucumber OR chicken with chili jam and lettuce nell |

Cheddar cheese with Apricot or Peach Jam and Mayo - scrummy. Hummus with either rocket OR limp lettuce (it has to be limp, it doesnt do it for me with Iceberg) My favourite at the moment is Ham and Lidl's Peach and Passionfruit Jam! My local healthfood shop does huge fresh rolls with Blue Cheese and avocado and leaves ....ooooh! Also Stilton, Roast beef and red onion. Off to make a sandwich. |

Wallys (Gherkins) are the best ! Of course, the consummate question for devotees of banana sandwiches is - are you a 'slicer' or a 'mash & spreader' ? |
