What does this Word 'Crimbo' mean?

I keep coming across it on here. Surely it dos'nt mean Christmas? I'm just a bit puzzled thats all.

i use crimbo, because people have complained about xmas and faster than writing christmas to be honest i really dont think it matters, im not gonna stop using another word! lol x

Not sure where it sprang up from, first time I heard being used was for Bo Selecta's Xmas hit "Proper Crimbo". Have to admit I use it. :)

Why can't people write CHRISTMAS it's only three letters longer? Or is it a ploy to get rid of, not only the Nativity scene but also the word CHRISTMAS? Come on people lets keep to tradition.!

cor does it really matter that much...surely we can call it what we like, especially the ones who arent into that much.

Hi, I remember John Lennon calling it Crimble maybe Crimbo is another version of that. Liverpool seems to be the common factor. Gwynne

I prefer Christmas personally but i don't have a problem with others using the word, same as Xmas, not worth starting WW3 over! Ann glos

I've checked 'askoxford.com and crimbo's not made it yet! I like it personally. It's bubbly and fun and I prefer it to xmas. Jack :-)
