If we are truly going to be a PC Nation, then take this on board. I am a Christian I am a Native Englishman I am a Man I am proud of my cultural heritage. I am proud of my native tongue. I am white. Anyone trying to take any of these things away from me is not PC. I will celebrate St George's Day, Christmas and the successes of English Sporting teams as and how I like!!!! And I grant all people the same privilege.

I also am anti pc. This country has done great deal to help intgrate etnic groups into society. For some it has been difficult to do. The very traditions that we have are a strong part of our heritage and religious beliefs and make our country what it is. if new Ethnic groups have difficulties with this, its a prolbem they need to deal with. I get the feeling though, that it's not the ehnic groups who are sometimes disturbed at the pc lobby. Some lobyist whom are self-appinted very often simply perceive a problem that they insist nedds to be addressed.. We should hold on to our traditional values. Many have been established with a great deal of sacrifice and should only be sacrificed without a fight. If I go to Indonisia In wouldn't dream of complainig of the calls for early morning prayers at 4.00 am. I must accept it as part of the local culture and if it upsets me I have deal with the problem. Too pc definately YES

ME I find the actions of the so called PC brigade very sinister what do you think?? When you study what they are daft enough as we think, to say, do you not see in it, that they are actually causing racial hatred!!! have you seen or heard of any of the Muslims, Hindus etc etc, complaining about OUR customs and traditions?? but by the PC lot constantly telling us this that & the other must be banned because we are upsetting the minor ethnic society (why I wonder did they pick OUR country to come to in the first place!!! surely because of our freedom, yet the daft PC are determined to stop our freedom, by telling us what we can and can`t do and what we can or can`t say!!! I`m not a churchgoer on a regular basis, but I do count myself as a believer in God, and could call myself a Christian. Of course I do not accept that Jesus was actually born o Christmas day (does ANY educated person accept that!) but surely it is our freedom to celebrate on a specific date, and Dec 25 is just as good as any other, of course it started as a Pagan custom, we suely know that, but we can have fun and watch the kiddies enjoy themselves and believe the fairy story of Santa, surely we all did that and did it do us any harm?? remember the excitement and thrill of waking up to finding your stocking full of goodies, when I was a child it was only an apple & orange and perhaps a penny bar of chocolate and some little thing, there was a "depression" at the time and men were out of work before WW2, but our parents did their best to keep Santa going, and in our innocence we believed it. Poor kids today, they are expected to grow up in the flipping cradle, what with sex instruction when they are hardly out of nappies etc etc, so I say a big RASPBERRY to the PC lot and tell them to get stuffed!! Now I`ve had my say & my moan, I`ll wish all a very Happy CHRISTMAS and put your decorations up, leave your curtains open so all can see them.

I agree entirely with what's been said here, if the"faceless wonders" aka PC bunch don't butt out then in years to come I can foresee an anti pc faction which will have a lot of clout.....this government needs to think on that . Wonder why no-one has thought of forming some real opposition..sure there would be plenty of support.!! People in this country are getting totally whazzed off with the goings-on of the PC brigade. Joyce ps . years ago King Hussein of Jordan slagged the "British Bulldog."....said it was "toothless"....he must have known something that we didn't!!!!

l agree - Christmas is Christmas. The thing with us brits is that we won't really do anything about it - and yeh its not necessarily the other religions but the so called authorities that think they know best. Perhaps in protest those that disagree with this PC thingy, should all send a Nativity Scene christmas card to No 10, or who ever, with a polite message!!! jude sarf wales

Unknown Report 18 Dec 2004 00:59

pat,i agree with what you say in principal...but its not individuals that cause the problems. there is always someone, who wants to make a name, for himself/herself,by putting themself forward,as representing, this group/that group, and manage to convince junior beurocrats, that they represent the views of hundreds of thousands of people in this country, that represent votes, coming up to an election. so panic dets in,and they sip their coffee, and think, yes, lets ban this, lets ban that! and who loses out....WE DO! bryan.

Exactly Stu, it's the PC freaks who try to cause all the strife. It's them we need to sort out. Everywhere you go in the world there's people celebrating Christmas and no-one tells them how to do it, they just do it. It's the UK where a small group are falling over themselves to be PC. I'm a bit of a people watcher and I swear these idiots think if they are seen to be PC it gives them some sort of immunisation from being accused of anything untoward. It's pathetic but that's only my opinion. Jan

I go all out for Christmas. Decorate the outside of my house and the trees with party lights, tinsel, and the whole works, lock, stock, and barrel. This is for my Children and Grandchildren, and the happy looks on there faces. If people dont like it. "STIFF" If they cut the power to my house, i would go out and by a bloody generator. This is my birth Country, and my religion. If i am asked to respect others, then please respect mine. Nu'ff said. Tony Oz
