How can anyone accuse us of being PC when we are christians preparing to celebrate the birth of a JEW

Pat Report 18 Dec 2004 00:27

PMSL I couldn't figure out what all this was, until I read the thread below. Well done Shaz, I hope you have your tinsel earrings and you will be wearing your tinsel garland around you at dinner table like my daughter makes us do??? We have tinsel everywhere and I was saying only the other day, blimey they do so many styles of the stuff now. Its cost me a small fortune this year as we needed to replace some of the old stuff, my daughter was going from one lot to the other, and my 6 foot tree loaded with probably far too much is staying my daughter and son did. So I aint getting rid of nothing for anyone either. LOL Pat x

Linda... banned the Nativity??? How unfair is that ... all my kids used to come home requesting tea towels for the heads of the shepherds!! Where the hell are we going to find red capes and sharp teeth?? Its unfair for the kids too I mean there are only 4 characters in Little Red Riding hood what will the rest of the kids play?? In the Nativity everyone gets a part, Mary, Joseph, Angel Gabriel, Innkeeper, 3 wise men, 10 sheperds and 10 more angels! Shaz x

shaz, ime very tempted to stand as an independent in the next election...THE ANTE PC PARTY...but i would be labelled ,as national front or something similar...which is wrong,i just believe, this is our island,if you wish to live here..welcome..but accept our traditions...if you refuse, then go home to your country! just my opinion,if it offends anyone,i appologise! bryan.

Big Shaz Report 18 Dec 2004 00:33

Bryan my sentiments exactly, I am not racists and have friends of all colours and religions. I just expect to be able to celebrate Christmas and live in my own country as I have always done. Shaz x

Pat

Pat Report 18 Dec 2004 00:39

Bryan You have a good point but to be honest I don't think its the foreigners that have a problem, it always seems to be the do- gooder PC people they who have no idea what they are talking about. They actually show themselves up as idiots in the end. I believe anyone living in anyone's else's Country should respect that country's traditions, as Sheila says "when in Rome..." What is needed is for people to stand up to these PC's and celebrate it even more tackier and outward to show it won't be easily killed off. Right I'm off me soap box now its FRIDAY NIGHT LOL>> Pat x

Jan Report 18 Dec 2004 00:44

I'd vote for you Bryan. The story today about the kids and the tinsel is PC gone mad and I put up with enough rubbish about PC at work, like loads of others I suppose - Civil Service!!!!! We can't even call each other by nick names any more would you believe, our new manager is offended by it. Never mind that the person actually liked her nick name. We have to be very careful these days, watching out backs just in case we say something that some prat doesn't think is PC. Whoops, that wasn't very PC of me. We have to get real sooner or later. I go all out for Christmas. Decorate the outside of my house and the trees with party lights, tinsel, and the whole works, lock, stock, and barrel. This is for my Children and Grandchildren, and the happy looks on there faces. If people dont like it. "STIFF" If they cut the power to my house, i would go out and by a bloody generator. This is my birth Country, and my religion. If i am asked to respect others, then please respect mine. Nu'ff said. Tony Oz

Jan Report 18 Dec 2004 00:57

Exactly Stu, it's the PC freaks who try to cause all the strife. It's them we need to sort out. Everywhere you go in the world there's people celebrating Christmas and no-one tells them how to do it, they just do it. It's the UK where a small group are falling over themselves to be PC. I'm a bit of a people watcher and I swear these idiots think if they are seen to be PC it gives them some sort of immunisation from being accused of anything untoward. It's pathetic but that's only my opinion. Jan

Unknown Report 18 Dec 2004 00:59

pat,i agree with what you say in principal...but its not individuals that cause the problems. there is always someone, who wants to make a name, for himself/herself,by putting themself forward,as representing, this group/that group, and manage to convince junior beurocrats, that they represent the views of hundreds of thousands of people in this country, that represent votes, coming up to an election. so panic dets in,and they sip their coffee, and think, yes, lets ban this, lets ban that! and who loses out....WE DO! bryan.
