Glenys the Menace! Report 20 Dec 2004 17:11

Hello Gaynor, and I too, am sorry to hear of this. A similar thing happened to us last year with a young cat that had just been run over (the driver was distraught). A neighbour knocked on our door saying a cat had been injured, and could we help. Hubby was still at work; the kids and I ran down the road and, while my daughter held the kitten in a blanket and slowly walked home, I rang the vets and my son helped too. The three of us took "Skye" to the vets, but sadly she died in my daughter's arms on the way. This devastated her, especially as before we adopted her she lost her own cat in similar circumstances. However, due to the childrens' efforts I wrote to the RSPCA, and they both received a certificate of commendation. They also received a reward from the owners of Skye. Our best wishes and a hug go to your Mum and Nick; it is very upsetting, but they did all they could. Glenys x

Thanks everyone for your well wishes I know she will appreciate it, Mum and Nick have been very upset over the weekend and like I said , there was more to this than just poor little Bud, if that wasn't enough on its own. I know your kind words will help her and Nick feel better. Thank you - Gaynor

Yes, I saw June just recently at the Manchester meetup and she's a great lady. Must have been terribly upsetting. We have a couple of dogs ourselves and it's enough to make you shudder, pray nothing like that happens to them. All the best to June and her family, Andy

Oh what a horrible thing to go through... for your mum and son as well as the owners. Having once (long time ago) assisted an hystircal lady in removing a (very dead) cat that she'd run over, I can only imagine the anguish of doing all that you can to help but having the poor thing die anyway. Don't know June thta well myself, but I know how highly regarded she is on here... hope she's back soon.. and that whoever ran the dog over get's their comeuppance Paul

Bless their cotton socks.... I have lost a cat through an RTA and the car driver was kind enough to take him to a vet so i am sure the owners will be delighted that someone cared enough to look after him!! BIG HUGS FOR THEM BOTH!!
