Back to the subject in hand! Or not! Slang from the south east these two I think Hampton (wick) and Bishop (rock). Personally I relate more to the second!

Thanks Mandy, heard that one some years ago. My husband says to tell you he's "A Midsummer Nights Dream". (Yeah, I say, "Dream" on.....). Glenys :-) Just noticed the time - 11.35 p.m. - so better get to bed soon. Night night, all!

I quietly pointed out to an elderly friend that his zip was down. He just as quietly retorted "best to leave the window open when there's a dead man in the house". When I go to the loo, I usually excuse myself by saying I am going to consult with my ancesters. If there are spiritualists around, or people who know the jargon, I am going for a private sitting. Paul, that's how my son ended up calling his Percy when he was small! I rang hubby at work today to ask what his was called as a lad - and he still claims he can't remember! Will have to ring mil and ask her (NOT). The girls' thread has been removed (I remember now, the person who posted it removed a lot of their threads) - maybe we should start it again. Mandy :))

Don't know about shaking hands with the vicar, sounds too much like bashing the bishop, which is something completely different. Mind, you know what they say about having more than 2 shakes..... Anyway, as a kid it was always referred to as "widgey"

What was the thread called about naming girls' bits? I missed it at the time and would like to have a little giggle! I've searched under 'girls' and 'ladies' but can't find it :(( Anyone help? Mandy :)

Mr Johnson! Why?? Nice one Steedie! Mags, I can imagine your confusion lol. Can't remember my dad ever referring to his as anything, he would have been far too embarassed. Maybe I'll ask him on Christmas Day!!! Mandy :)

Mags Report 23 Dec 2004 09:38

My dad used to refer to it as a 'tassel' - I got very confused and embarrassed as a young child overhearing a conversation about someone's jumper having tassels all along the bottom! LOL Magsxx
