Sea of Souls is fiction i.e. the result of someone's imagination. Why be impressed by someone else's imagination? Len

Glenys the Menace!

Glenys the Menace! Report 9 Jan 2005 11:40

I'm a sceptic who would like to believe, but I just don't know. This view isn't helped by certain events, some years ago, when I was working in cabaret with a comedy magician and his wife, who did "magic of the mind". They always made it quite clear to the audience that it was "magic", and not mind-reading. However, one couple came up after one of the acts and said they were professional mediums, and that they could "feel the vibes" as Eileen was doing her act. So they were making money out of other peoples' bereavements ........... Another woman - and I heard this myself - said to Eileen that she could see a red indian chief materialise beside Eileen as she was doing her act. There are more instances I could quote, but I think that's enough. My ex mother-in-law, who I was really close to, died in 1996 and she really believed in this - however, I've not had any communication from her. Glenys x

Sally I understand your point of view, but let's turn the tables. You, as a living person, get in touch of the spirit world. How? Exactly! I don't know, no one knows. Perhaps this White Noise is just one way those on the other side are trying to communicate as they haven't found any 100% way to, just as we here haven't found a way to contact them. They've tried mediums, no, still not convinced us, Made noises, still no luck there Moved things around the house, still didn't prove anything. It's probably just as difficult for those on the other side to contact us as it is for us to contact them.

Stu! You've solved a mystery! One of my work-mates received that email yesterday. She played it, but didn't hear the end bit. She forwarded to me, I heard it and mentioned it - she thought I was kidding, so she played it on my PC and heard it - it really freaked her out. Now I know how it was done, I'll do it to the rest of the team, hehe! Carole

Hi Jess, I saw the face of Elvis in a rain puddle this morning! I also used to see faces in the VERY floral curtains I had growing up in the seventies! Daniel, I am a sceptic, however, I have heard stories and also seen things for myself to know that 'there are more things in Heaven and Earth' and all that. In fact, I work in a very old house and see and hear things frequently. However, the people on Richard and Judy were claiming that what they had was proof, when it was just laughable. Like I said earlier, anyone can be convinced of anything if they choose to be--as was proved by the whole 80's backward masking thing. As I said, why would our loved ones choose to contact us in such a bizarre way? Surely if they had a message for us, they could find an easier way to get it across? And if my long dead great gran is reading this could she please get in touch and tell me the BIG SECRET! It's driving me potty! Sal

I read about this phenomena in New Scientist some years ago. Apparently it was documented by a leading electronics giant who were recording white noise, remnants of the Big Bang, via radio telescopes. Occasionally, disembodied voices could be heard on the tapes, sometimes in unidentified languages, but which could be identified as human speech by voice analysis machines. I mentioned other paranormal phenomena, now being investigated by scientists, in my thread "Ghosts in the head or bats in the belfry?". Len

Ovber the years I have had so many paranormal experiences that it has left me utterly convinced that there is life after death. We are never alone, and by that I don't mean that we are being watched constantly. If you believe and ask for a sign, you will get one, but you have to recognise it when it comes. Ernest

I went with my daughter to see Tony Stockwell in November and we had a message from my mother in law. I went with a totally open mind and I now have to believe. What he said was too off the wall, nothing general, to be coincidence. Parting comment, she says she's giving you a saucepan. That week my daughter had moved into a flat with her boyfriend. I had given her some of my mother in laws bakeware. Diane

Skeptics always ask for some sort of proof and when something like this happens, they just say it's fake. Do you think anything will convince people?

Sand

Sand Report 7 Jan 2005 20:59

Daniel, not sure what that was about but I wouldn't rise to the bait! Personally, with all due respect, I can't believe anyone is falling for this! I couldn't believe how gullible Richard and Judy were. If there are better examples of this, why didn't they have them on the show? I am old enough to remember a ridiculous court case where Black Sabbath (I think!) were taken to court because supposedly their records played backwards carried subliminal messages. The case fell apart when their defence lawyer picked random records, played them backwards and 'discovered' ludicrous 'messages'. He basically proved you can make anything sound like anything. Has no-one ever looked at tiled floors or patterned fabrics and seen faces in them? It's exactly the same thing. I felt very sorry for the people who genuinely felt there loved ones would talk to them this way, but why would they? The messages can only be heard when recorded and played back--would there not be an easier way to leave a sign? Rose, i do feel for you. I lost my Mam almost two years ago, and I feel her all around me, and am sure she sends me messages--I even here her voice at times. Maybe I'm imagining it all, or maybe the bond between us is so strong that it cannot be broken by death, or maybe I just feel that connection still in my head and heart and it's my way of comforting me when I miss her. I hope, Rose, you can find the same comfort and love from your parents whatever way you feel works for you.

Now that's funny. Someone has just put this back onto page 1. I'm mature enough not to rise to the bait and argue. Stop it will you. Thanks.

There was a piece about this on This Morning today. They had a lady on there who has taped these voices for 23 years. I'm sure I saw the same lady on an episode of Jane Goldman investigates. A very interesting concept. She even used digital recorders in the Jane Goldman programme as they are clearer.
