That will be a lovely tribute to him. Shows that some people still know how to show respect. You must be sad but proud also. Joan.xx

As most of you on here probably know, my Grandad passed away on Sunday. The funeral is next Tuesday. Grandad was a sub-mariner during WW2. One of his favourite stories he liked to tell was how the submarine he was on helped to land the Cockleshell Heroes. He was also awarded the Burma Star. His friends from the Sub-mariners Club and Burma Star Association have been in touch and we will now have standard bearers leading the cortege, a Union Jack draped over the coffin, a reading from each of the assciations and the Last Post will be sounded. As we leave the crematorium they will play A Life on the Ocean Wave. A fitting farewell I think for a brave and wonderful man. Tears of pride are welling in my eyes as I type! Jeanette x
