Through Genes I have recently made contact (via email) with my mum's sister after their 40 year family estrangement(?), when she refers to the family, she talks about auntie and uncle, when I respond to her emails can I ask about auntie 'Ann' or do I just ask about Ann??? Not sure about the etiquette! Help!! Juliana x |

Refer to her as Auntie Ann. It sounds nicer, respectful and shows that you havent forgotten her. Elaine x |

Despite the "rift" she is still your aunt so I personally would call her that! Good Luck Bev |
