thanks girlies - i have been calling her aunt - when we've emailed but she talks about other members ie my mum's aunt and i dont know whether i have 'earned' that right??? xxxx

I agree with Elaine, call her Auntie as it will probably be a good ice breaker as well.. Is always good to talk to relies, and get their views on things, Good Luck I hope all goes well. Mhairi

Refer to her as Auntie Ann. It sounds nicer, respectful and shows that you havent forgotten her. Elaine x

Through Genes I have recently made contact (via email) with my mum's sister after their 40 year family estrangement(?), when she refers to the family, she talks about auntie and uncle, when I respond to her emails can I ask about auntie 'Ann' or do I just ask about Ann??? Not sure about the etiquette! Help!! Juliana x
