Kim from Sandhurst Report 20 Jan 2005 23:02

Heard on the news today that Peter Sutcliif was allowed to see where his fathers ashes were scattered in the North. Has he now got the taste for freedom? If I look out my kitchen window, I see Broadmoor, never bothered me before, but if some one escapes the whole area here is closed, and I worry, the last time was 10 yrs back. But if it didn't bother him killing 13 women, and he has got 'life' why should it bother him, to now try and escape and do something again? We moved here knowing Broadmoor was there, but the 'liferer's' were never allowed out until now, for any reason, even the Kray's were never allowed out, but now worries me. I am not talking about the mentally disturbed ones, I am refering to the the ones that are in the 'Secure Prison', there is a difference in Broadmoor. Kim

Kim I know what you mean. I'm about a mile and a half from the Maximum security prison here in Milton Keynes where they have some real nutcases*, like that Charles Bronson bloke. Only comfort is that term "maximum security" and the fact thaht if I secaped from there, I wouldnt go into a housing estate, I'd go off in the opposite direction into the woods ! Paul * clearly they aren't nutcases or they'd be in broadmoor ! lol

Cant understand why they allowed it in the first place! Why should the likes of him recieve preferential treatment!! Dont worry too much about the chances of him escaping though! Like Paul said it is a maximum prison and the chances of him doing that must be very slim! Bev

Cheers Paul, Just chuck 'em all all here!! Trouble is, normally, they get the furthest away as possible, but one day we are going to get the bright spark who is going to stay in the area and no one is going find them as they will be too close!!!

Unknown Report 20 Jan 2005 23:15

Charles Bronson is there now Paul as they couldnt have him in the same nick as Ian huntley - we had shipman etc - and our max security proison here in wakefield in slap bang in the centre of town next to the railway station. As far as I am aware there has never been an escape

Bev, Sorry, but you don't realise what it is like here. They go on 'Bus' trip's!!! My uncle, years ago mind, lost one in Reading. The 'do gooder's' here are a right pain in the a**e!! as they think these 'nutters' should be re-estabalished (?) in the community!!! Yeh right, they shouln't have any after what some of them have done!!

Unknown Report 20 Jan 2005 23:20

There have been several well publicised incidents of very unpleasant people being let out on shopping trips in milton keynes. doesnt bear thinking about with all the kids around

Pat, On a Monday at precisely 10 am we get the 'Warning' siren for 3 mins, the we get the 'All Clear' for 3 mins, that's probably what he hears. There is a siren in Bracknell, Ascot, Sandhurst, Bagshot and Lightwater. Kim

I thought they were supposed to be locked up for a reason, that reason being that they are a danger to society! So what are they doing going shopping for gawds sake!! I agree with what you say about the do gooders! They probably wouldnt feel like that if it was a member of their family who had been murdered or something

fact! sutcliffe's lawyers are looking to go to the european court of appeal,to get him an early release. the government, having taken legal advice, decided to allow him to visit the ground, where his father's ashes, have been laid...otherwise,refusal would have helped sutcliffe's legal team,in their efforts to free him. bryan.

Bev, I think when someones been inside a long time, as it reaches the end of their sentence they're gradually reintroduced to the outside world - the odd day trip here and there, usually supervised.

Sorry Sheila, You are right, but didn't only one go to the funeral? just remember, as the guards van didn't leave Broadmoor, or was that one too poorly then?

susie manterfield(high wycombe) Report 20 Jan 2005 23:25

i really dont think you can put the krays in the same class as sutcliffe! the krays should never have been locked away for so long. they never went around and killed just anybody for the fun of it they just killed other criminals im not saying that they were right cos they werent ,they shouldnt have done it. they werent harmless to the general public susie
