The first thing I remember I wanted to be when I was about 4 was a Pakistani bus conductor! We had lots of Asians from Pakistan working on the buses in Glasgow and I was so taken with their friendliness and their turbans I was determined to be one. Needless to say it never happened! LOL Later I wanted to be a nurse and I did get to! Christine Oh and inbetween a ballerina but got too fat for that!! |

Hi, I can't remeber a time when I didn't want to be a teacher. I used to line my dolls and teddies up in front of a blackboard and easel. And that's what I do. Gwynne |

Hi Karen. As a Teenager in the early 60s, i always wanted to run my own contracting Company. I worked hard at in my 20s and eventually threw persistence and ( head down, bum up attitude.) i got the oppotunity. I now run my own Contracting Business, and have been since 1989. Cheers. Tony Oz |

I wanted to be a vet or at least an animal nurse, but my father would'nt let me go to college after I'd left school. I ended up doing shop work. Eventually I trained as a florist, a long way off from what I originally wanted to do. Jo. |

Wanted to be an artist! NO I did'nt, I started hairdressing and in later years finished my training and became a hairdresser! My son still buys me all my artists equipment so I can indulge when I want. The passion is still there but the talent needs constant practice so I'm not too good anymore. I can still enjoy it though! Good luck to Daisy's son at his first interview for Cranwell. I did this in 1917 passed and did not accept. I think I have regretted it since. Rupert |

I agree with Lynda's answer. I just wanted to be happy. One day I hope I will be :S Job wise - never really knew what I wanted to do (wanted to teach at one point, but then got a bit disillusioned with the education system in my teens). Fell into IT more or less by accident, and it's quited me. I'm not sure it's what I'll do forever though. |

You are right Lynda, but it takes years to get there. Contented is what I used to settle for as many people do. My cup is always half full! I have to tell you though I was born to be an old aged pensioner !!!!! No more worrying about stupid things....they dont matter. Deanna |
