You can never give written proof of being single but I believe it was the same as now - if widowed/divorced you have to produce the relevant cert. Ann

does any one know if back in the 1950 you had to prove your marriage status because on my mum and dads cert it says my dad was widowed but i believe he was divorced..can anyone help on this??????
