does any one know if back in the 1950 you had to prove your marriage status because on my mum and dads cert it says my dad was widowed but i believe he was divorced..can anyone help on this?????? |

You can never give written proof of being single but I believe it was the same as now - if widowed/divorced you have to produce the relevant cert. Ann |
