Rosemary I'm no daredevil - took me months to pluck up courage even to come on here!! Just watching my kids and all the opportunities they're grabbing with both hands made me realise that I still have time to do things and maybe it's the fear of it that's worse than the actual deed itself! Daisy - shaking with trepidation! Also an essex girl.

Daisy, My parents spent the best part of 8 years between getting married and me being born, going away on horse trekking holidays in the Lake District and other such places. I spent my childhood riding at the local stables, which included special horse riding holidays during the summer months. Sadly, I think some horse riding places have decided it's no longer worth the hassle, in this era of dubious compensation claims. When I was riding, if you fell off then well, these things happened and unless you had done yourself a complete mischief then you got back on. I first did archery on a Center Parcs holiday but later tried it at university, was good fun.

Thanks Andy. Shame about the compensation aspect of these things. That's why we were happy to sign the permission/disclaimer forms for my daughter in South Africa - firm with a good reputation but nevertheless her choice to do it. Must be an archery club in Cambridge somewhere. Daisy
