My grandparents in a south Wales village, never did have a tap inside the house.

The stand pipe ouside the living room window was a 'modern' progression from having to walk to the village green to the communal pump :-0 :-0

No we weren’t affected Ann but our water is from the same pipeline. We did fill some saucepans with water also two builders 50litre tubs outside.

We have beer and wine so we would survive ;-)
