For those interested, I've just got an email from my Cousin on PEI. They are are all safe and haven't had too much damage to their houses although there are many other houses that have damage to their roofs. She still doesn't have power. Lots of fallen trees, snapped power poles and erosion to roads. Long queues for the fuel for generators. The army are arriving to help out <3

Belle ............ Glad to hear that they are all safe and there was little damage to the houses.

The army are being sent to all the provinces in chaos, to help with manpower ........ clearing roads, cutting down trees, clearing areas of debris so the electricity people can get to the downed poles and restore power, etc etc.

The Premier of each Province has to submit an emergency request to the Federal government for Emergency Financing and for the armed services to be sent in.

All have done so, and all are receiving both funding and manpower.

But it is going to take weeks, at the very least, before anything near normality returns to many of the affected areas.
