But the general surgeons didn't recognise them and they were on their own trying to help people. The orthopaedic surgeons called London a foreign country because of how awful London's general surgeons were to them. Remember this was a long time before the NHS and surgeons were seen as the tops.

My mother nursed at Stanmore Orthopedic hospital in the 1930s. I have photos of

some of the wards and the patients. :-D :-D

They were on there own that's why Von, lots of the orthopaedic hospital opened for WW1 were closed or used for other purposes.

My Mum was friendly with one of the porters and his wife and long after she left she

used to take me to visit them at the porters lodge :-D

According to my grandads tales he told to my Dad….a lot of WW1 soldiers ended up in Gartloch Asylum :-( :-(
