:-D :-D :-D :-D

welcome to my world but it's cooler than usually, only 32C at the moment with a strong wind, normally high 30s edging up to 40C on some days in August.

Morning everyone :-D :-D <3 <3

Tis roasting here already, my blinds are down and front door open trying to catch the breeze.

I blubbed me way through Ethel and Ernest last night so missed the new Changing Rooms programme.

If you are in out of the heat this afternoon we’ll worth a watch on iPlayer, Tis a true story of the lives of the Briggs family before during and after WW2, Brenda Blethyn is the voice of Ethel :-)

Stay cool everyone <3 <3

Morning all. <3 :-D

Bootiful here. :-D

Picked up a couple of things that were missing from my Sainsburys delivery then dashed around Ann’s store for a handful of food items and spotted (and bought) a new top on my way out before meeting friends for coffee. It was lovely sitting at a shaded outside table idling our time away. :-D

No food to prepare today as I made three salads yesterday - green, potato and waldorf - and have plenty left. Will just chuck something under the grill to go with them,

Enjoy your day everyone. <3 :-D

Since no one has asked - is a Tottenham Cake one that is covered in white and navy icing. :-S

Yuk - googled it and it is that I least liked at school as it is iced plain cake covered in coconut. :-(

no Joy - Greggs apparently sell it, but as I've never been in a Greggs I am going on what I read this morning.

That’s the one that came up when I googled it Pat. It was the one I liked least when we got it at school. :-(

LondonBelle Report 11 Aug 2022 11:12

I can remember having that for dessert at infant/primary school dinners with custard....I rather liked it :-D :-D. Better than tapioca or rice pudding with a dollop of jam....yuk :-0 :-D

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 11 Aug 2022 11:15

I had every window in the house full open for half an hour at 5:30 this morning, Joy.Then closed them all and pulled the blinds down.....we are quite comfortable at the moment :-D

Snot balls Belle :-0 :-0 :-0

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 11 Aug 2022 11:17

That’s how we had it at school too and it always seemed strange to have an iced cake smothered in custard. I preferred chocolate or ginger pudding with custard. Semolina was my favourite milk pudding - still like it.

**Ann** Report 11 Aug 2022 11:20

JoyLouise

Belle, we had blinds and curtains at one side of the house closed too - and have now even though it is a comfortable 26 degrees.

Ann - snot balls !!! :-0 :-D

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 11 Aug 2022 11:24

Ann, initially I wondered whether it was a cake iced in Spurs’ colours. :-D :-D :-D

Then I googled it and I think your description fits! :-D :-D :-D
