Recently come across a Dark Caramel tea which is rather nice. Have also read that there are now alcoholic teas- one is a mix of Black tea, Bergamot and Gin, and another is Oolong tea and whisky !!!

Dark caramel tea sounds good, not sure about the ones with alcohol yet though.

The dark caramel is a new one by Twinings

I think I'd rather add a dash of whisky to tea than but a bottle of the alcoholic tea. Must admit I drink quite a lot of different herbal teas and also the cold infusion teas

Sounds revolting

Caramel chocolate bars, salted caramel ice cream, but caramel tea?
No thanks.
Just plain old 'stand a spoon up in it' builders tea for me :-D

Must admit I was sceptical when I ordered it Maggie. I only ordered it to avoid paying postage on my order!! I have been very pleasantly surprised about how good it is

I'm with you Maggie. I like a strong cuppa, preferably made with loose leaf tea. Our daughter gave us "Biscuit Tea" recently. It wouldn't be polite to post what I said about it but it wasn't complimentary.

I like Twinings teas and enjoy a ginger tea first think these days instead of ordinary tea. I like most of them so might try the new one. Bergamot and gin sounds interesting speaking as a gin drinker. Oh well I drink whisky as well.

Kentishmaid Report 4 Aug 2021 20:09

Noveltea do the alcoholic teas Ann. they are only 11% volume

Vera, I'm going to have to try the 'Biscuit tea' , will let you know what I think

Kentishmaid

Kentishmaid Report 4 Aug 2021 20:12

Just noticed they do a 'Jam and Toast' one as well Vera !!!

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 4 Aug 2021 20:49

I think I'll be giving Toast and Jam tea a miss!

I dislike nearly all of the herbal/fruit teas I've tried with the possible exception of ginger and lemon and a mint one.

you've reminded me I have several presentation tins of tea, by jacksons of piccadilly, given to me some twenty five years ago...but ever opened

Wonder if they would still be useable? They may be collectors items by now though :-)

Vera, I am sitting drinking my fist cup of Biscuit tea, managed to get it in Tesco this morning. Am enjoying it. Noticed they also do a Decaf Bedtime brew, with vanilla and nutmeg, must admit that doesn't appeal

I still have no wish to try these on teas, although I do like some herbal and fruit teas.

But I wondered if they were very sweet and if those of you that like them usually have sugar in their tea?

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 6 Aug 2021 12:50

I am glad you are enjoying the biscuit tea KM. Will you be trying the jam and toast one?

Names, my daughter likes these teas but doesn't have a sweet tooth at all.

Kentishmaid

Kentishmaid Report 6 Aug 2021 14:02

I don't normally have sugar in my tea Names, but until recently one of my favourite drinks was the Nescafe cappuccino or a Double Mocha Chocha. I have just been diagnosed pre diabetic so was looking for drinks with less carbs, so have been experimenting with teas and cold infusions

I might have been tempted Vera, but they didn't have them in stock :-)

Where do you get the caramel tea please? It sounds interesting. My partner only drinks herbal teas now.

The Dark Caramel tea is Twinings, Liz. I get it direct from Twinings but I think Waitrose do it.
