Aw Sharron, we're not squabbling (I've not heard that word for years).
Island commented, I responded. It's also been years since I heard the expression "I'll bang your bloody heads together" , which my Mum frequently shouted to my sister and myself!!!

Don't worry Island, before long H&M will open their mouths again and slag off their family a bit more. Nobody needs to look very hard to pick (genuine) faults with them. They're both their own worst enemy.

He does, however, need to make a living and I think I would do a well paid interview in his shoes.

I haven't paid much attention to the Sussex saga and got a bit bored with all the 'he said, she said, they said' saga. I'm not keen on 'Lillibet', if they shorten it to 'Lilli', why didn't they just call her 'Lily'? Each to their own though.

Although I have not watched the interviews very closely, I have not really been very horrified by them.

Sharron ............. I don't think many people would have worried about Prince Harry leaving and doing what he needed to do.

It's the way he did it, and the things he has said about his family since then that has been disturbing, to say the least.

Prince Andrew made a mess, but his sister the Princess Royal and brother Edward have both set to, done what they wanted to do while young, without causing much distress or too much bad publicity (a divorce and some rotten TV :-) ), matured and settled down, and are now solidly supporting their parent(s) and brother.

Harry could have done similar.


Perhaps he really should have had treatment much earlier, although it really was not all that common back in the 90s ............... we dealt with "things" in the family.

As Prince Harry was never going to move up the royal ranking in any way, he was always going to have to make a life for himself once he left the forces or become a pointless individual like Prince Andrew.

With a view to the disaster that was unfolding regarding the mess Prince Andrew had made of his situation, I think Prince Harry probably took the most sensible option to get away and establish himself elsewhere while he was young enough.

Don't think he could have got it right whatever he did.

There was talk of Meghan complaining that her son was not made a Prince. According to the rules that will happen when Charles isKing. Such a shame they didn’t consider how the names would sound then. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet sound, well ………

I'm sure we all called our children by names that we chose ourselves and didn't care what anyone thought - probably upsetting some members of the family in doing so.

I think the couple have a right to call their children by whatever they think best and to live wherever they choose.

I have a sister who took herself off to America and another who went with her husband and children to New Zealand. I'm sure they both upset their parents but it was up to them to choose - just like Harry and Meghan.

The DM on line is saying that Harry "told the Queen what they were calling the baby before announcing it", but the Palace staff were taken by surprise, and there was an uncommonly long time before they posted anything about her.

This came from that guy who wrote the book on H&M, and seems to be used as their transmitter of information ;-)

I'm thinking, like some other posters, that they hope this will help mend bridges.

When I first heard the name, my immediate thought was that it was very disrespectful to the Queen. I appreciate that she has to "pass" all names, so I guess she doesn't consider it disrespectful.
I thought "Lillibet" was a really personal nickname the Queen was called by her sister first, being unable to pronounce her name properly and then by the Duke of Edinburgh.
I think it would have been better to call the baby Elizabeth and then to nickname her Lilli.
Bet they don't care what anybody thinks - as their behaviour has proven over recent months.

Her full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor

which is the family name.
