	Similar to when orphans were sent from the UK to Canada & Australia about the same time too :-\|

	Belle...read a few books about that.....and they were not all orphans! :-( There is a couple of films.....The Leaving of Liverpool and Oranges and Sunshine...not sure but I think the latter was about the Social Worker Margaret Williams who opened a can of worms :-(

	They sent them to South Africa as well Belle :-( Some of the children were as young as 3....some children were told their parents had died. Some parents did not know their children had left the country :-(

	Can you imagine the uproar if that was to happen today and rightfully so :-\| I think it was the Catholic church that was involved with the Canadian problem :-\|

	Been in the garden for most of it Belle. It was really hot. Nice to sit out though :-D :-D

	Not just the Catholic Church...lots of private institutions....Barnardo’s etc. After promising the consenting families..they would be fostered in to good homes much better than the poverty ridden areas/children’s homes they were living in the UK. They put a vast majority straight in to institutions and worked some of them very hard till they were old enough to leave.
