I almost tried to cut it short and layer it when I cut my fringe and sides but thought better of it.

Von, if you make fruit cake make sure you make it moist. I bought a Dundee Cake for Christmas and, as it was too dry for me I pricked it all over and poured sherry onto it, making sure all of the holes got some.

It's still not moist enough for me so I'm going to do it again. It'll be a good job I'm not driving anywhere! :-D

it's the same as what Von is doing if she doesn't use yeast. I always took it with us when caravanning as it was so good 2nd and 3rd weeks :-D :-D :-D

My Mum used to soak her fruit for Christmas cakes in so much alcohol you got inebriated just entering the house never mind eating the cake ;-) ;-) ;-)
