Yes lovely idea Mel. I am not sure Ellen would come on here so it would maybe give her comfort to know how much he was liked.

Mel, that's a good idea - thank you. I think David would be a bit overwhelmed to know that people have responded like this.

I have had a message from Rambling Rose offering her condolences to David's family as well. She remembers him from her time on here.

That certainly sounds like David. He had a lot of pain and difficulties over the years, but always had something to say.

Got the card so now I have to take down all your names.

It says Deepest Sympathy in big words and underneath

Thoughts of you at this difficult time.

Then inside it says

Time is a gentle healer

so may it bring your way

Some measure of consulation

and comfort day by day.

How very sad. I didn't know David had been absent as I haven't looked in for a while.
Poor David didn't seem to have the best of times in his last months/years.
Rest in peace now.
