Did you see the programme about Broadmoor the other night?

It seems that they only carry out treatment on those who are mentally ill. They have a seperate wing for psychopaths AND narcissists who have personality disorders which are untreatable.

So the criminal psychiatric system is aware of narcissis and feels it necessary to contain them yet little children are required to deal with narcissists with no support whatsoever.

Mick Phillpott is a narcissist. He is in a prison but he is an indication of just what they are capable of.

I didn't see the programme, but I suppose there are different levels of Narcissim.

And some have been caught!

He is a nasty piece of work. The least attention he gets, the better.

He is Joy, but he is a prime example of a narcissist and he is a fine illustration of the mindless selfish damage they can inflict on innocent children and indeed the adults who unwittingly fall under their control.

Had narcissism not been such a well kept secret, six children may not have perished.

The disorder was first described in 1925, and not given a name until 1968, so I suppose it's not been recognised for long.

A great many children have suffered a great deal of abuse in the ensuing fifty-two years.

They have, but narcissim is very well recognised now.

But totally unaddressed.

Physical harm is much easier to see, and understand than mental harm.

So why is B Johnson not confined to Broadmoor and D Trump to Cook County Jail Ill. ?
Why no charges (yet) ?

Because there are varying levels.

Both have been accused, though not diagnosed, as being narcissists.
The problem is, being narcissists, they can see nothing wrong with their behaviour - they are, in their eyes - perfect!
Also, although both have broken rules - it being their 'right', they believe, due to their position, neither have actually broken any laws they can be charged with - yet.

This is an extract from a letter to Johnson's father from his head of year at Eton:
Writing of him in a school report in April 1982, he said:
“Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude to his classical studies . . . Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half): I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”

Mick Phillpott's narcissism was very evident but it is not possible to be locked up just for having a personality disorder.

Their behaviour is sometimes so bizarre that others are unable to believe it has really happened which is why, to some extent, it is so difficult for their child victims especially, to access any form of support or help.

After the Nuremburg trials some people with the typical traits of narcissm were executed for mass murder even though they had not themselves killed anybody or even given a direct order to do so. Just the execution (sic) of policy.

Both Trump and Johnson have racked up a hgh score.

So they are immune because people cannot believe their behaviour ?
There are those in the close family of both Trump and Johnson who have said that they believe the two to be head cases.

To be honest, the execution of Nazi's isn't an everyday thing, is it?

They're not 'immune because people cannot believe their behaviour', there not 'immune' from the law, they haven't actually committed a crime they could be arrested for - yet.

Rollo, you will, of course, understand the concept of 'accessory after the fact' for which the complicit Germans were executed.

How, exactly, do you conclude that I implied they are immune from the law because people cannot believe their behaviour? They have committed no crime.

Let me explain again. It is not illegal to be a narcissist or, indeed, a psychopath. They did have their use in times gone by.They would be ideally suited to lead an army into battle as they have no empathy. They are suited to certain of the more high-powered positions now.

What is illegal is to break the law because of the personality disorder, as without it. It is not illegal to be a pedophile, what you think is your own business. However, oce those thoughts become deeds, they are illegal, and quite rightly so.

You may recall that pedophillia was not addressed until very recently because it was hard to imagine it was really happening.

It's worrying that Boris was described so in 1982 by his Head of Year at school. He has had 38 years to hone his "skills"

Johnson was 18 when the report was written - it makes you wonder why, bearing in mind he'd been at Eton for 5 years, and spent most of his life there - the school didn't address his entitled posture.
But then, perhaps, part of the ethos of Eton is to ensure it's pupils are 'free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else' - it's just that Johnson went above and beyond their remit!
