Apparently Cradley Heath has a different Black Country accent as there was so many Welsh there it was a cross of the 2 accents :-D

The Welsh invaded B'ham and the Black Country over several centuries. I asked the lecturer (wrote an email ;-)) about Welsh miners in the area and he wondered if that could be his next book :-D :-D :-D

Lots of French went to Smethwick and BRIERLEY HILL during the industrial revolution to help with glass making.

The Crystal Palace for the exhibition was made with metal from Dudley and glass from Smethwick

They are indeed Fly.
He sounded a lovely person. Very humble and apologised in case I didn't want a message from him. He's only just discovered his Welsh Heritage:-D

I've written back and told him about the original Jemima Fawr - and am waiting to hear :-D

It's strange Pat!

Kent was my Maternal Granny's Ancestral Home but her husband's London based family moved there too.

Then some of his family's descendants ended up in Pembrokeshire and some of my Pembrokeshire Welsh side Family ended up in Kent! You couldn't make it up!!!!
