For several years now I have paid just under £7 for a year. Continuous membership since 2003.

TS Aah! Now I get you. As I was typing my comment a post from you appeared with no text, then as I submitted mine, yours appeared in full so I deleted my PS as it no longer made sense. A GR glitch sent to confuse us LOL

Island, I understood that but you had a PS which has disappeared saying " How did Tenerife Sun post without a message". It was that bit I didn't understand. No problem it won't change GR's haphazard method of charging or their lack of interest

The current GR staff do avoid answering questions. I've had many an email tennis session with them where they have evaded my point. It's beyond annoying and very rude.

Pat. GR haven't 'treated everyone equally' for years.
When they first hit on the wheeze of charging more they only applied the higher rate to new members. They must have realised there would be an outcry and mass exodus if they had suddenly doubled the sub for long term loyal members.

Gone are the days of Estelle and Phil when members were treated with respect and fairness on all other matters. The 'staff' now really don't give a monkeys about the paying members.

I started at £5 which gradually crept up to and has been for years £8.96 for 12 months continuous membership. If they suddenly wanted to charge double I'd be out of here - that's how they get you!

I will be interested in GR's reply as I also contacted them a while ago.

I have had continued membership since 2003 and they now charge me
£19 something for a years standard membership.

That's nearly £20.00 a year Alan :-( I paid about £18.50 on conversion from euros and for next year??? Well when there are many free forums out there do I want carry on on a dying site who can't treat everyone equally???

Just been charged $17.96 ( :-S) for a six month Standard Membership

I have never taken a break either but they don’t like my card and every year I get a message saying they can’t take payment. I have a platinum membership but would never pay for extra records on here.

I pay less than £9 for the year and I have also been around for quite a while and never taken a break. That's just for the basic standard membership of course. I would never pay to have access to their records on here as I think there are much better sites for research.

I paid around £72 for the year but I’ve been around a while too

Kim that is high if you have had constant membership, no break and always paid £9. You haven’t by any chance had a card number change?

I would query why it is now so high.

You can check any poster's number by hovering over their name (at the top of one of their posts). A pop-up with a URL appears at the bottom left of the screen and the last part is that person's membership number.

In that case it is worth complaining. But are you sure there hasn’t been a recent break?
