Telephoned a close neighbour yesterday, mother in vunerable age group & daughter with health problems, they have'nt been out for a week, she said that they are going to make a flask, pack a picnic & take a couple of fold up chairs then drive somewhere into the country side where no one else is & soak up some sun. Said I thought it was a good idea just to get out of house for a while.

Seems as though that is what most of the country did at the weekend - spreading the virus into the rural areas. :-P

Well, listened to a group of teenagers being interveiwed yesterday and one of them thought the "isolating of the over 70s" was to avoid them(the over 70s) infecting everyone else :-0

Some people will believe what suits them

I think some people will have to get out of the house to safeguard their mental health.

Providing they take extreme measures and avoid other people and retail outlets then they are lessening the risks to others.

I have seen the backlash in areas that have a lot of second homes and I understand that some of those rural places simply do not have the health facilities to ccope with an influx of potential patients.

Difficult isn't it?

I certainly would go to the lake where we wouldn't come into contact with anyone else. Saying that, if we parked the car and found hundreds of likeminded people there we would drive home again.

Elizabeth that is exactly what I thought the teenagers would come up with. They obviously don't listen to or watch any news bulletins or read nespapers. I am surprised though that it was not emphasized at schools. However, maybe it was, maybe they are too old for school or maybe they just didn't listen.

We went to our local lake early yesterday morning. OH sat in the car with his window down and a travel flask of coffee listening to Classic FM while I took the dog for a short walk.

We were early enough to miss the masses and I think OH enjoyed his little excursion :-)

Sat outside in the sun for an hour this afternoon.

Chats with passing neighbours which was nice.

Our houses are all up steps from the road so everyone is at the required distance. That's one advantage of living in the Valleys plus opposite our house there are only trees so we don't feel hemmed in :-D

We can see our park from the garden, have to say it has been very quiet today, normally it is alive with children on a day like today, empty of children at moment, just a few people walking about, hopefully parents will heed the advice. It is going to be a shame if the parks are closed because of the morons at the weekend. Our road is an access road & usually really busy with walkers cutting through to town, really quiet today.

Here the province will be announcing extra penalties soon, but the city has brought in fines for disobeying social distance ............. $50,000 for businesses and up to $1,000 for individuals.

My "step grandson " aged 7, is obviously struggling to understand he asked his Mum yesterday at 6.22am, what are we doing today,.where shall we go?

Oh dear, he needs to listen and understand, before things get fractious!

His Dad is still away, offshore near Grimsby. Not sure why he can't get back yet but he's been gone for around 2 weeks already!
