Tonight I have mainly been on an unopened bottle of port :-D :-D :-D

Edit: Out of boredom, I just googled it - it's worth £13.
Is half a bottle worth £7.50?

OH decided to check out our local Government Liquor Store on his walk this evening ...............

The morning paper had a piece on a) the stores opening later and closing earlier, and b) lots of people buying lots of liquor so the liquor stores were having the empty shelf syndrome.

Part of the reason for the alteration in hours was to give staff time to re-stock as they were so busy during open hours that they didn't have time to do it.

We have several bottles of wine in the basement wine cupboard and some strange and wonderful things in the cupboard in the dresser in the dining room. I haven't been able to drink for about 12 years, so it's all up to him :-D

Drink to me only with thine eyes,
And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss within the cup,
And I'll not ask for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise
Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove's nectar sip,
I would not change for thine.

10.I know a great joke about the Corona virus, but you probably won't get it.

9.A man walks into a bar. "I'll have a Corona, hold the virus.

8.I sneezed in the bank today – it was the most attention I've received in ten years.

7.With all this talk of Corona virus the people who make sanitising gel are rubbing their hands together.

6.I went to the chemist today and asked the assistant what killed the Corona virus.

'Ammonia cleaner' she said “Oh, sorry,” I replied, 'I thought you worked here ...'

5.Someone with a cold: "I just want to stay in bed and do nothing, I feel terrible."

Someone with Corona virus: "I feel terrible, I think I'll go skiing in Austria, visit the Eiffel Tower and maybe do some white-water rafting in Camino de Santiago."

4.Don't worry, the Corona virus pandemic won't last long – it was made in China.

3.Definition of irony : when the Year of The Rat starts with a plague.

2.Ok, so if the Corona virus isn't about beer, why do I keep hearing about cases of it?

1.Before Corona virus I used to cough to cover a phart.

Now I phart to cover a cough.

Daughter's friend F came over on Wednesday, on his way home from work, to pick up some plants my daughter had accidently ordered.
She was at work, so asked them to be delivered here.
She also asked if I needed anything from the shop - I thought she meant the small shop where she lives, so I didn't mention cat food - but F went to Tesco's.
I didn't need much - milk, a cabbage, but a 'bonus' would be a packet of chocolate biscuits, tonic water etc.
Well, F exceeded himself. A huge packet of chocolate biscuits, tonic water - and a box of merlot! :-D :-D

I would like to say, I don't drink alcohol until 8pm! :-P :-P :-P
(okay, it may go on until midnight)

Since lockdown, have repainted the kitchen, the garden furniture, AND the living room (apart from the doors) - using paint that was in the cupboard (so that's mainly white)

I am now attempting to put the living room back together, currently contemplating whether I can put the mantleshelf (it is just a shelf) back, before I create a fire surround!

Oh, and F is just a very nice young man! :-D
After the lockdown, I'm sure he and I will imbibe and start singing our Cornish folk songs :-D :-D :-D

Lol Maggie I think they had had more than enough beer. I am sure we used to have a tape (yes tape, that old) with it being sung by a well known Cornish folk singer (female) I can't remember her name. But I have fond memories of holidays spent with our friends who then lived in St Austell, we had been out to a local pub for the evening, I was designated driver and we had a fairly small car a Singer Gazelle I think, automatic (weird car). Although small it had a bench seat at the front so seated six. The rest of them were well over the limit so I had that song bellowed in my ear the 5 or 6 miles home. This would have been late 60s early 70s.

So they lived in 'Snozzle' :-D
3 of the many schools I attended were in Cornwall - Calstock, Gunnislake and the most memorable - Mevagissey.
Every morning we sang 'Trelawney'! :-D :-D

Daughter's friend, Frank, was born in St Austell - his parents moved from London.
They also joined, and expanded, the Charles Causley Society.
Weirdly, before she met him, my daughter used to play Charles Causley CD's to my grandchildren, in the car.
Weirdly, their favourite of his poems is 'Timothy Winters :-S
