I've had a pain in my ribs all week - it could be from sitting in front of my PC for too long. Or not!
I was going to walk into town today, to get a few things, an onion, cauliflower, plonk - mainly plonk, but daughter messaged me, telling me not to go out - and what do I need.
Not much. Freezer is pretty much full, I have a few spuds - but no plonk.
I stayed at home, and looked in the 'alcohol' cupboard.
There's some pink fizz I won at a works tombola - or it could be bubble bath.
A bottle of 'poor man's Pimms', but no lemonade, a bottle of port, some very old (matured?) sloe gin I made, something called Genebra (I didn't buy it) - I can't find it online, but it's 40% so probably needs a 'mixer' - and could be gin - you get the picture.
Well, I found a bottle I obviously won at a tombola sometime or other (still had the raffle ticket on), of whisky mead (20%) - it's delicious! :-D :-D :-D

Always virtuous to have a good 'clear out'. :-D :-D :-D

Since being unemployed, (unemployment commenced just before coronavirus, so the likelihood of another job was slim) I've sorted my freezer into 'oldest' drawer (to be eaten first) and 'newest' drawer.
Cleaned my lampshades
Scrubbed the huge living room rug - it's a much better colour with the cat fur removed.
Found a Somerset line on my family tree (very acceptable, as they, like my Cornish lot, 'arrr' a lot)

...and procrastinated on many things

I don't drink until a 'certain' time, and hadn't started when I was delving into Somerset!
As you can see, once I start - who knows when it will end?
(actually, it ended a while ago - cats want me to go to bed) :-(

Once your children have grown above teenagehood (which can last further than 19 - sorry) - the time when they empty your 'forgotten' alcohol cupboard (as they will), you too can (occasionally) indulge :-D :-D :-D :-D

:-D :-D actually 2 of them don't drink at all and the third buys his own as he hates mine :-D

This morning, my daughter's lovely 'fella' (F) came around with a box of 'goodies'.
On top, was a bottle of Merlot.... :-D :-D :-D

- it also contained eggs, and some of my daughter's home-grown vegetables.

F actually forgot the box, but went back - thereby making him late for work, because, as he told daughter 'I didn't know how urgently your mum needed the wine' :-0 :-S

well we can see where you are going to end up after all this,,,,,,a

Thanks for cheering me up Maggie! Gave me a case of the chuckles.

Was speaking to my (slightly younger) brother on phone today. He told me that at the end of last week, he was going to see a friend (using the train as he doesn't have a car - and it@s much tooo far to walk).
He was in town very early, before his train journey, joined queue of determined shoppers waiting for a supermarket to open, managed to get (one) pack of toilet roll, before catching the train to his friends home.He felt pleased with himself, as he wasn't greedy, only taking one pack, which he could share with his friend.

Arrived at friends and realised that the toilet roll was still on the train!

It must have made someones day, getting a toilet roll pack free!

On the way home from friends home, he went to her local shop and found that they had plenty, so he went away happy taking a new pack with him.don't know if he glued it to has hand, but it managed to go all the way to his home with him.

Just received my mother's day cards.
The one from the younger daughter is one of those 'old fashioned' photo's - a glitzy lady at a table, and 2 men in tailcoats.
The text is:
"Of course my wine counts as one of my five a day" she laughed...
"It's got grapes in it, hasn't it?"
Inside, she's crossed out 'birthday' and written 'Mother's Day'.
However, there's a £20 voucher inside, that daughter says is for wine :-D :-D :-D
Oh - and she's left the price on the card :-\

Elder daughter (who's nice 'young man' brought me the 'care package' (as daughter called it), this morning has sent a card that says:

Am I your favourite child? (yes/no)
If 'Yes' - Happy Mother's Day - you are the best
If 'No' - Are you just saying that to spare the feelings of the others?
If the answer to the above question is 'Yes' - an arrow leads back to 'Happy Mother's Day, you are the best.
If the answer is 'No' - an arrow leads down to 'P*ss off then'
