Don't you all just love prophets of doom!!!!!

I'm sure the government would like to hear the superior wisdom you seem to think you possess RTR.

:-D :-D :-D :-D

RolloTheRed Report 18 Dec 2019 17:12

I don't have any special wisdom I am just reporting the way it is.

Despite leaving on Jan 31 (*) the government has yet to explain its plan on how Brexit will pan out and deliver a prosperous country. Instead it has today announced yet more chaos by dumping May's measures to transfer accrued ECJ legislation into UK low. For business it is a total no no as business is impossible without legal certainty.

While large firms wait they are getting on with relocating substantial assets and company HQ out of the UK. Honda has already announced its complete shutdown in (leave voting) Swindon, BMW is locating all of the electric mini work to the Netherlands, Airbus will relocate unless it gets a special deal, Nissan will not make any future models or electric vehicles in Sunderland.

Most of the leading edge pharma companies around Cambridge plan to move to the EU due to regulatory barriers. One side effect could be that UK residents wait years extra for cutting edge drugs, possibly forever.

If you have anything positive to report I am sure we would all like to hear it.

(*) subject to EPPE ratification - the EU citizen settlement scheme does not as it stands meet requirements eg dependents, no longer working, pensions, health care, minimum income requirements, time out of the UK, property ownership.

Different time, different circumstances but it didn't do Japan much harm to withdraw from the world.

At least the Australian extractive industries can't be moved overseas, and fortunately the Australian Federal Government has a cunning plan for any future major economic disaster :-0

They'll just sell the rest of what is not currently in foreign ownership to China, and everything will be hunky-dory.

Re Kay????'s post of 18/12/2019 at 18:44, if people can't, or won't, have a reasonable debate about the subject in hand without resorting to insults then I'll delete this thread.

And I wasn't referring to Kay

It's my ball and I'll take it home if I want :-P

Well said Allan, it seems if we don't agree to a one sided/coloured debate we are nobody. :-|

It would seem that a certain poster has replied to a comment that I made on this thread at 20:44 yesterday, on another thread which I started today about the weird weather in WA :-S

It's Christmas day. probably the ONLY day in this whole year we can forget about politics and think outside division and/or despair. Can't you please let it alone!
