Now that has taken me right back to childhood. You never quite forget that smell of boiling potato peelings. In our house it was often mingled with the fish bits boiling for the cat and the block of glue Dad would be melting in an old saucepan. Was it called fish glue? What’s puzzling me now is why on earth my mother would have been cooking potato peelings - we only had a cat. Perhaps it was for our dinner lol
