Just sitting with a coffee at home as we had to get back early for the guitar exam. <3 :-D

Oz played the worst I've ever seen them play. Seemed to me they were not in harmony at the beginning but played brill at the end, to no avail. Lost by 10 runs - almost a repeat of the Windies losing by 5 runs.

The Windies, however, are always a happy laid-back team but Oz seemed surly to me.

We wondered whether Oz deliberately set out to lose so they could end up playing England in the semis - always a typical grudge match - or whether the players did not like having two particular team mates because we had seen snubs previously. Plenty of booing for the two Oz miscreants of course as there still is with the one at Durham.

I have no idea whether Oz players had been told not to sign anything but there were a lot of children disappointed; only a couple of them cracked a smile and a nod towards the children, most ignored them. A couple of previous Oz players waved and smiled to the kids but we never saw anything like the signing, chatting and photograph posing that retired Windies and a couple of retired English players did the other week.

As far as PR goes, Oz seemed not to have heard of it. Sth Africans signed before and after the match. Last time the Kiwis and Windies signed for the kids, even when all was quiet as they fielded in the match.

The final next week when we are away at a wedding so we'll record it and keep our ears and eyes shut until we get home. :-0
