My girlfriend who also has the same surname as me lol is interested in looking for family over here. She said her grandfather was from either England or Scotland but couldn't vibe sure which. What would be the best way of searching?.

My girlfriends grandfather was Victor James Tanner bc 1905. His wife Edith Fyvie bc 1904 and she died in July 1947. Victors mum was born or married in Battersea her name was Elizabeth Kendall, BC Aug 29th 1871.

I have info on the ship that they were passengers on that went to America and the date and destination. If you need any more info just ask. Im sure i can get a bit more info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Were you hoping to work out if your family & your friend's family were related? Do bear in mind that Tanner is an occupational name & not unique.

The 1920 US census lists Victor as son-in-law of Richard & Florence Hulbert. his wife Mary Ann being their daughter. Also with the same family is Arthur Fluvie listed as brother-in-law to Richard. Didn't you say that Victor's wife was Edith Fyvie?
