John Report 2 Dec 2018 14:15

Please be aware that I cancelled my membership of PayPal last year after you debited them for my subscription.
I do NOT wish to continue my Genes membership and I shall be very angry if I find that somehow you have found a way to claim from me..
My PayPal is closed....or should be.
Thank you.

Of course they have claimed from you or you have given money to post on 3 boards about it,,,,,,,,,,
You cant post without first paying money. :-D :-D

Also it doesn't matter that you cancelled you PayPal,,,,,,,you always need to UNTICK the auto renew on this site aswell,first.an keep making sure it stay UNTICKED and not reverted back to a default setting...….

and by rights,you have used the service,but you do a have cooling off period so act fast.

Several years ago there was an older gentleman trying to cancel his deceased wife's subscription. What ever advise he was given, he just reposted the same statement.

In the end one of us emailed Estelle - she was able to cancel it for him.

Just make sure that you've ticked "auto renew off", and your subscription will be automatically cancelled! Its very simple and easy to use!!!

In the matter of repeated posts....it quite often happens that the page "hangs up" so you hit send again and again,
without understanding that you can easily delete repeat posts, or edit incorrect ones!!

Bob ........... the posts are 2 on General Chat, but the others are on other Boards, so they are deliberate.

Bit drastic posting on loads of boards when he could have asked on General how he stops the account.

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 3 Dec 2018 11:06

Totally ridiculous when it's perfectly easy to cancel your subscription through normal channels!! Hardly rocket science!! Attention seeking?!!

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 3 Dec 2018 11:11

Have emailed Support with a link to this thread.

Rather than attention seeking, it's more likely to be ignorance of how to do it. Don't forget - we often get people posting when they think GR actually read the boards. Even more people don't realise that replies are posted onto a thread rather than being sent in a message.

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 3 Dec 2018 12:39

FGS I think people on here are "clever" enough to know how to continue their subscription or cancel it!! The payment system is made perfectly obvious when you first join, what on earth is there not to understand?!!

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 3 Dec 2018 13:40

from my view.. we don't know Johns' actual renewal date, and also has only posted 5 times in 14 years....and as he seems to have withdrawn from Paypal( I didn't know Paypal was a valid option)sometime last year he doesn't expect to be billed for another year...this year...

I in my account,have auto renew ticked, I don't want to lapse and be charged an
extra amount to continue....my card has changed throughout the last year and fully expect a reminder when renewal is due....

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 3 Dec 2018 13:51

Mine is ticked to off, so time come I won't be renewing - easy!!!

Is this the John who has been banned for seven years?

If it is, how come he can post?
