Happy Mother's day to Aunty if she looks in x

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 May 2010 10:14

Morning everyone. Isn't Aunty at a Footie match at the moment? Hope the outcome is successful for a change.

Maz's sore throat could be pollen related - when it's very high, even those not usually affected can suffer! Sounds as if the happy couple's experience at housekeeping is making them more aware of what you do. Hope they can keep it up!

Still having restricted shoulder movement. If there is no significant improvement by Wednesday, the NHS will be honoured with my presence again. Is this what getting old is all about :(...............I'm a glass half empty sort of person.

edit - things are looking up. Just checked the Euro Lottery numbers and I've won £5.50 - the Hot Chocolate is on me - lol

Hi There, Aunty is home from her football match. Her team managed to beat the cellar dwellers, ie the bottom team in the competition. Aunty's team is now second from the bottom and if they had not won would have been bottom of the ladder. We don't have relegation so that is as far as a team can go downwards.

Hope all your aches and pains are quickly mendable.

This has to be a very short note. Quiet!!! I can write short notes. Number one son is here to take my computer to computer hospital. He is going to upgrade it for me. I might be without it for a day or two. I am having withdrawal symptoms already. Must go, I will leave a message to say hi when I am at work tomorrow. Cheers for now. Keep out of mischief.

Hope the patient returns with all sorts of improvements, the ones you can work out how to use!

Well done Aunty's football team..thiings are on the up at least.

Maz, you need to get some rest to give yourself a chance to get fit for the wedding. After all the preparation you've done, you don't want to be ill now.

DET, you might need an injection in your shoulder, it's very painful but effective.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 May 2010 13:03

Gee, thanks Pauline! I'll give it until Tues/Wed and see what happens.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are keeping well.

Dear LaGooner......didn't Arsenal win against Fulham?
Bet you were pleased!

I have to remain neutral as I am the referee in my mad household.

I got my cooker sorted out today as the other was, well, somewhat knackered and the complaints were coming fast as folk had to eat out of tins!

Take care all
Very best wishes
xx

LaGooner Report 9 May 2010 21:21

AuntySherlock Report 9 May 2010 23:16

Hi all, Greetings from my workplace. I've discovered there is a man living in my house. He seems to sit in another room in front of a thing called TV. Watched a bit of it last night. There is also an empty space where my computer should be. Waaaaahhh!!!!

This computer upgrade is for my birthday, long past gone. No 1 son has been gathering new computer bits and is now ready to put them in the computer. He keeps nagging me to go buy a brand new computer but I am quite happy with the one he cobbles together for me. I am told barring great catastrophes of technological magnitude I should have my computer back by this evening.

We sound like a bunch of old crocks. Sore throats, shoulders, sniffles, etc etc. I think we need to declare a do nothing day, all throw hissy fits, and let others take care of us. Oh look they are all rolling around on the floor giggling. Aunty hands out undergarment protection.

OK I am off to have a lurk around the boards and then a sneaky visit to Ancestry. I have interesting happenings with regard to OHs family, but I need to check out some more information.

What did Chelsea and Wigan play. Chelsea won 8 nil. Isn't that a very bad score line for your game. Does this mean your silly soccer games are over. We are having an interesting "what if" being discussed. What if Oz wins the right to host the World Cup (Soccer). Our footy people will have to move about 90 AFL and Rugby games from our main stadiums around the country in order to cater for the soccer. It is going to cost millions and millions of dollars to set up alternative venues so we can still have our proper games. Interesting.

Mazfromnorf Report 10 May 2010 07:00

morning all I was told the footy season ended yesterday however there is the world cup soon i believe . 8 nil means it was probably a very one sided game in this countries eyes .
Aunty it is god to see you were not away long .but we hope your own pc is enjoying its make over .
I am sharing this one with the house this week .yesterday was rather frought but we will get there I am at work and they are off to do some shopping and replace her lovely necklace which is faulty ,mealtimes are real issues they dont eat when the world eats and also cant be bothered to cook so its all takeaways
my throat is awful very sore i am going to keep the fuids and tabs up dont think frog will want this so will ban him today he suffers with a bad chest . we have rain again but might chance the washing as its not awful

Morning all. Sorry to read that Maz is still under the weather. Try massive doses of Vit C. You are probably a bit run down and stressed after all the work you've been doing. You might risk a sick day and just slob around and NOT DO ANYTHING.

Does the football season ever end? There always seems to be some game going on. Has her Maj managed to visit the Holy of Holy's yet? And was OH suprised at the appearance of a strange woman in his TV room??? Hope you backed up important things before the computer went to hospital - lol

Pauline $(*-*)$

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 10 May 2010 10:45

Hmm, did the OH even notice there was a strange woman in his TV room?
Will it be an 'all singing, all dancing' computer when it comes back from hospital?

How's the shoulder DET? Did the thought of an injection make it feel a bit better?

LOL LG, you know you're always right, but does your OH know it?

Maz, have you tried gargling with salt water? It might stop your throat from getting infected.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 10 May 2010 11:01

Hi Pauline. The idea of an injection didn't do a lot thanks very much! The inflamation seems to be going down, but movement has not improved. After having a read up, I think a trip to the GP is called for, just to get on the physio wating list. The bumpf I read said it could last up to 4 years - pftttt! Do you have personal knowledge?

Pauline $(*-*)$

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 10 May 2010 11:18

DET, I've had a lot of cortisone injections in my shoulder and elbow (sports injury) to reduce inflammation. It's painful for a day or two afterwards but then it eases the pain for weeks, sometimes months.

My sister had a frozen shoulder and it lasted for 2 years, a couple of years later she had the same problem with the other shoulder.

Go to the doctor!!

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 10 May 2010 11:26

You've convinced me! I think it's worth it, just to rule it out. Had a go at gear changing in OH's car a moment ago - could drive it in an emergency, but it wouldn't be safe under normal conidtions. My car is in use at the moment, so still to try that one.

edit - it's not painful unless I try to get the joint to do something it doesn't want to do, although it did ache a bit last week.

Evening/morning everyone.

It is so cold here at the moment. Some charmer told me today that it is forecast for the remainder of May!! That will only give us three months of no central heating unless we get an indian summer in September/October!

Maz, you need to look after yourself!! You cannot be poorly on Saturday!! Do you hear me!!!!!! lol
