I wondered how good the audio books were. Well sounds as if they are good for insomniacs then. Am just over halfway through Netherwood on the Kindle and enjoying it too.

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope that you are all having a splendid day.
We have been busy putting together some fairly cheap plastic units each having four trays which can be pulled out. One is for all the polishes, sprays, etc and for the dusters etc. Then one for all the fresh veg and fruit, and the third is for tins and packets when we buy in bulk. It has stopped the over loading in the store cupboard and under the sink so we are very pleased. Then of course we had to empty the larder cupboard and clean it etc etc.

Oh is one getting a late lunch ready as we are at the quiz night tonight.

That is about all my news for now,

Good morning to all my Cyber Friends.
My sciatica is still very painful and OH said that I woke him several times throughout the night. The difficulty is that it could disappear as quickly as it started and I really hate taking pain killers but I have taken them this morning.

Wonderful news this morning from the twin son who is not in the Army , he proposed to his partner yesterday and she accepted, not sure about dates for the wedding. I am thrilled for him as he did marry when he finished uni and was shocked beyond belief when she left him. He said right up to very recently that he would never marry again. I am delighted for him that at last he feels able to move on in this way. His lady is a very practical, down to earth young lady, with a kind family who have accepted him into their family. The lady concerned has a child of 10 who she has brought up her son with help from her parents, having the child when very young, however I could not fault this girl who told me everything when I first met her.
No date for marriage yet.

So a birth, and a wedding next year......hope no deaths??!!! <3 :-D

We are going out shortly to buy a few bits and pieces such as more fruit, but will be back latter.
Wishing everyone a happy day

Bridget

Good morning Cyber people

Well what a day yesterday!
OH commented when we went to bed last night that we hadn't eaten a proper meal all day. Crumpets, sandwiches and Christmas cake. Cheesy Footballs, Twiglets, Cheeselets, Cream & Chive Hula Hoops, Nuts, Roses Chocolates, Dates, Figs, Prunes,Chocolate Dates, Cups of tea, and finally a large glass of Baileys. About 10,000 calories, but no proper meal - sounds like Christmas to me!
I can feel a diet coming on! but not until after the new year!!!

Bridget - sorry about the back - I have been very lucky with my health, my only real problems are my right ear, and that has been troubling me since before I was a toddler, and my right knee, (an old cricket injury from 30+ years ago) but it only flares up, when I get too heavy (Oooops!!)
Great family news - when it comes in threes and the first two are good news the third one will be good news too!!
My football team are playing QPR this afternoon, so we are hoping for a good result to finish off 2011.
Time to sign off now, must take OH a cup of tea in bed, and I wish all of you and yours a Happy and Prosperous 2012

Good morning Cyber Friends,

I hope that the sun is shining either literally or in your hearts. We are very late this morning doing all the little things that have to be done each day. The reason for this is that we sat up until gone 02.00 hrs watching the dates competition, such drama and not just from the players!!

Woke this morning to a beautiful blue sky with the sun shining. The town is back to normal having celebrated New Year, everyone is back to work. The next big day is 12th Night and we will go into town to see the Parade and the
Three Kings, Mary, Joseph and the newest born child who will be in the
parade representing Jesus. Sweets will be thrown to the public and music will
go on for a couple of hours until about 01.00 hrs.

The following day all will be back to normal.

OH has just told me that two of his friends will be her for 21.00 hrs not sure if this is for football or darts as he then went downstairs to clean the pool and sweep the garden etc.

Well that is about all for now, with the exception of asking for prayers for my two year old great neice. I have added to my ZZ post

Take care everyone, enjoy the day, "be good and if you cannot be good be carefully" as my grandma used to say.

Bridget.

Good morning to all my Cyber Friends,

The sun is shining but it is still chilly at nearly 10.10hrs.
Another late night last night as two friends arrived to watch the last round of the darts with my OH and whilst they were doing that I ded some family research. Now I find it strange how for weeks or even months I can look for evidence of this or that with very little result...and then... All at once.....they are almost talking to me!! Does this happen to others? I do hope that I am not the only one!

All pains and aches have disappeared so far today, so hoping that it stays that way.

Not sure what we will be doing today but I am sure that we will keep busy.

Bye bye for now :-D :-D

Good morning all
Belated New Year greetings to you all. We had a quiet New Year - took a bottle of cava on roof terrace just before midnight to watch the fireworks - now that was disappointing - suppose it is a sign of the times - town hall having no money. Thursday night sees the Three Kings Parade which we will be going to see - weather permitting - I just love seeing the children's little faces - they are so excited - and almost fight for the sweets that are thrown to them.
We are having such wonderful weather at the moment - sometimes very windy but a sky so blue it could be summer - well exagerated a little - but mostly so mild - just hope we do not pay for it later. February always seems to be the month when we get winter.
Like Gerard we are trying to eat all that food we buy in just for the festive season - although I did not think we went that mad - couple of packs of Pringles - of which at least half is still left - couple bars of chocolate - and half of one is still left - oh and the mince pies I made - hubby got a couple left but I have a jar of mincemeat open so he will have to have a few more.
Well I have done the ironing this morning, not a lot to do but at least it is out of the way now. So I guess I will have to do a little cleaning up now - catch up with you all soon.
Take care
Love Mary xx

Good evening my Cyber Friends.

Well what a start to the New Year.

First I learn that son who was previously married and was addement that he would never marry again proposed to his partner of about 15 months
Then we have a young member of the family re admitted to hospital and is still there
Also have a new Grandchild due in about 8 weeks

And today I learnt that their has been a death today of a half sisters husband who was only in his early 60s.

So I have decided that we have had our good and sad news for the year all at once!!

Please remember our family in your prayers.

Thank you

Good afternoon to you all.
I did note post this morning as I have described my early mornings so often they must make people very bored!

The day has improved as far as the weather goes since early this morning when it was dark, windy and cold. Well it is still fairly cold but the sun has been shining and OH took all the leaves etc from the pool.

Jet and Joe are not impressed with the weather, have been for a short walk and then ran down the stairs, and straight into the house.

I have managed to do the washing etc and it is all put back now to where it belongs.

Not much else today

So take care, be happy

Hi everybody

Been a busy week since the New Year....sister in laws 70th birthday and she had a get together with friends and family....Went to art and painted not only my first miniature but also with acrylics...and it looks pretty good and i am really pleased with it. Of course we have had the battling winds since Tuesday and it had been mild but very scary...we live next to a wooded area and it sounds like a train going through when it is really windy..hopefully tomorrow it will be calmer...haven;t slept too well because of the wind...mind you we have had the post end of this horrid weather...pity those without electricity and trying to keep warm.

We have kept snug by a lovely open fire !!! I also sorted out my recipe draw and weeded out some they i will never cook and lots of duplicates, so a few more new ideas for eats !!

Hope you in the UK have not had any storm damage

Good day everybody

Well today is the day for OH's final preparations for her baptism and confirmation tomorrow by the Bishop of Edmonton, it's taken three years in the making, and now she can't wait - I am so pleased for her (had my Confirmation when I was 44, so she has beaten me by 8 years!!). So lots of prayers etc. today and tomorrow!!

I haven't been sleeping so well, because of our money worries. OH's job brings in some money, but the DWP's ineptitude is driving me crazy, no payments from them for over two months, I don't know how they expect us to survive. I just got the gas and Electricity Bills (Over £500 for the last quarter, and we haven't had winter yet! Fortunately, in better times I had a great credit rating, so I have Cards and an Overdraft I can use, but it is worrying. AND THAT BLOOMIN' WIND AIN'T HELPING EITHER!

Took down Christmas last night - a little sad - no flashing lights or pretty bright colours - virtually nothing left of Christmas - even that big, beautiful cake has all gone!!! OH said we will do Christmas again next year and just make sure we don't spend too much. Although if all goes really well in 2012 we could be in or near Bethlehem for Christmas next year!!!

Must sign off now OH needs a cup of teat to get her up this morning!!

Enjoy the weekend
Gerard

Well OH had her special day yesterday - it was a super day - she got baptized with one other adult and three children and was then confirmed by the Bishop of Edmonton together with two other adults. Still recovering from cake, even got some for breakfast!!

Took OH to work early this morning, she has a bit of a cold, I hope it doesn't get any worse!

Looking forward to a good week and hoping that my team can get through to round 4 of the FA Cup tonight (No I don't mean Leeds!!)

Bridget - great news about ZZ being allowed home - you must be relieved - I did manage to say some prayers for her this week, as we had a quiet day on Saturday at the church.

Enjoy today everyone <3

Good evening to everyone. I hope that you are all well and have had a good day.
Gerard, I thought of you and your wife at the Confimation Service and so pleased that all went well. I remember my day very clearly.
Have you had any progress re employment or government support...I do hope so.

Hazel, earache is just so horrible, I do hope that you are better now. I used to have them a lot as a child, and occasionally as an adult. Thinking of you.

Been rather lazy today, just the essential cleaning and OH cooked the beef Curry which was delicious. I have a chicken defrosting and I think we shall have a roast, then any leftover can be in a salad and I can make a soup with the carcass.

Well that is about all for now so I will sign off until tomorrow.
