Go to www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ and search!


When you've found one that is 'yours' then click on the name, then

Household Return (Form A), Page 1

to see the census image.

It also tells you how many children born alive and how many still living.


I've just discovered that my Gt Grandmother Bridget Brady had 18 children but only 8 still living in 1911

Now to try and find them!

Couldn't get off to sleep last night...found both of my Irish Grandparents living at home with their parents only to discover this awful news...

My Brady Gt Grandparents had 18 children born alive but only 8 of them living in 1911.

I have Birth/Baptism certificates of 11. No idea about the other 7

and can only find 3 living in Dublin City!


Pollard Gt Grandparents had 13 children born alive...9 living in 1911..8 still in Dublin City one in the USA....so they are all accounted for.


I just can't imagine what it must have been like to have 10 and 4 of your children to die...sooo sad.
