thanks Marlene that's a great help. although it doesn't quite tally with my records. according to 1881 census adam Fagan is living with his wife Jane, children James brn 1873, john 1876, william 1878 and albert 1880. so in theory james and john are correct but albert should be 11 and william is missing. thanks for the look up. now i have another thing to fathom out. lol |

Thank-you. do you think maybe William died between 1881 and 1891 which is why he is not there or could he be visiting someone? anyone have any ideas why albert and john are the same age in 1891 but albert should only be 11? thanks to all of you for your help! hopefully 50 avenue road is still there! |

The only way to check if the death is the right William would be to buythe certificate, but as the age is about right it seems most likely to be him. |

yes your theory about them actually being lodgers, sounds very plausable, just as people try to dodge tax etc now. sounds abt right. thanks. :) |

The 1891 census shows Adam as a coachman/groom domestic servant - not sure how you would find out who he was working for |

Here is the visitor in 1891. If he is related then it might be found out by checking what his mothers maiden name was. |
