my grandmother gave birth to a son in west hartlepool and had him adopted, she never gave him a name, is there any way i can search adoption registers, and how can i access them. he was born 12.12 1943. my grandmothers married name was weaver and her maiden name was thomas. any help at all please , many thanks |

He must of been registered before being adopted.You can only look in the adoption index by adoption name only. Annie |

The birth would have had to be registered. Have you looked in the GRO index? Was the child born before or after the mother married? Reg |
