Sounds like you accidently downloaded an advertising program - if you run it it will tell you there are 3 thousand things wrong with your registry and for just 100 dollars or something you can have them put right. Right click on it and then delete the icon - see if that removes it altogether if you havent 'run' it, it probably will

I agree with JIm, do not touch it until you have run the virus and spyware checks at the very least. Not too significant but I neither know nor can find this programme listed as something which you would not need to download as a conscious effort. If you have not done that the chances are it is a baddie. Do you have a friendly computer geek who is up to date with the latest thingys? Clive

Be very careful. The registry contains all sorts of info used to start the system. If you are not getting problems, do not select it. In any case, I would run a complete virus check first. Jim

I have a new Icon on my screen which says 'Repair Your Registry'... Can anyone tell me what it means and how to remove it please. Many thanks, Len. (Ps,,i`m getting too old for this lark)
