I have a new Icon on my screen which says 'Repair Your Registry'... Can anyone tell me what it means and how to remove it please. Many thanks, Len. (Ps,,i`m getting too old for this lark) |

Be very careful. The registry contains all sorts of info used to start the system. If you are not getting problems, do not select it. In any case, I would run a complete virus check first. Jim |

I agree with JIm, do not touch it until you have run the virus and spyware checks at the very least. Not too significant but I neither know nor can find this programme listed as something which you would not need to download as a conscious effort. If you have not done that the chances are it is a baddie. Do you have a friendly computer geek who is up to date with the latest thingys? Clive |

Sounds like you accidently downloaded an advertising program - if you run it it will tell you there are 3 thousand things wrong with your registry and for just 100 dollars or something you can have them put right. Right click on it and then delete the icon - see if that removes it altogether if you havent 'run' it, it probably will |
