What were there occupations?

Judith

Judith Report 29 Oct 2005 19:11

how old were they when they married? Was Ada's surname Robert or Roberts - you give both spellings in your message

Grrrrr Have just been directed by someone to your other request for help where you have given Frederick's age. Would help if you could post all you already have clearly so people who try to help don't duplicate efforts DO you want answers on this thread or the other one?

The Bag Report 29 Oct 2005 21:23

well, that has totally befuddled me. so are we not looking for lucy and edwin Rodds any more? Have you got Frederick 1880ish birth cert - who is his father? who is his mother?

Merry

Merry Report 29 Oct 2005 21:28

Strange that this new mysterious Frederick is a baker. Wasn't that Edwin's occupation? Are we saying that Fred junr just gave the wrong name for his dad when he got married in 1910.......??? Maybe because his dad had vanished off the face of the earth shortly after 1881 and Fred couldn't remember his first name? Merry

The Bag

The Bag Report 29 Oct 2005 21:30

Yep, Edwin was a baker

im totally confused aswell think i will give up the frederick i first looked up did live with edwin and lucy but obviously this wasnt my frederick some were on some census there are 2 frederick rodds living in the same house one as head and one as son angie xx

The Bag

The Bag Report 29 Oct 2005 22:03

where - which census? I cannot find one FREDERICK RODDS on any cenus anywhere (except the one in 1881 with parents edwin and Lucy)

Merry

Merry Report 29 Oct 2005 22:10

When you say: ''the frederick i first looked up did live with edwin and lucy but obviously this wasnt my frederick'' I don't think it's obvious at all.....many people got their dad's name wrong on their marriage cert.....often when the family had been broken up for some reason or the father had been dead a long time. The occupation matches. Merry

The Bag

The Bag Report 29 Oct 2005 22:13

have you considered that maybe Fredricks father cleared off or died soon after frederick was born and he had NO IDEA who his father was? The frederick we found with Lucy and Edwin was even BORN about the right time

Bacardi

Bacardi Report 29 Oct 2005 22:15
