CERTIFICATES - Are you being ripped off?

If you are after a certificate from certain areas of Kent, you can frequently save yourself £7 by checking to see whether the baptism or marriage is on the Cityark free online Parish registers. I particularly love the marriage register entries as they are originals, ie not transcripts. You get to see the actual signatures of the participants (if they were literate). The burial records are good too. While they are fine for age of death, they usually do not give a cause of death - for that you would still need to order a death certificate. |
